What "Color Laser Multi-Function" Printer do you use

 Screen still seems dark a few days later. Your I phone has to be on the same wi-fi as the printer (so you could not print to your printer at home from your work location). It did print from phone to printer; just not a picture you would use for anything due to lack of print quality.

loved the easy wireless set up

 I took the black cartridge out (the OEM one that came with the printer from Brother) and it was clearly not right - the slightest movement and black toner powder comes out (see picture).  With COVID, printers are also in high demand, so I didn't want to return the entire printer. So I ended up buying a non-OEM black toner cartridge and since replacing it, the printer prints flawlessly!  It's unfortunate that the OEM toner was broken/defective, but replacing the cartridge was a simple fix, even though I had to spend more money.

Needing a color laser + scanner for home use

Inkjets will use ink on a regular basis to keep the nozzles clean even if you aren't printing. The Brother HL-L3270CDW comes with starter cartridges that are rated for about 1000 pages (your mileage may vary), as opposed to 1300~1400 pages for the standard cartridges you buy, or the high capacity black ones that are rated for 3000 pages.

I am a nut for researching everything I purchase. I frequent Reddit/forums/review sites/YouTube videos before purchasing anything. It's almost laughable, my wife/family/friends will poke fun at me but also come to me for advise frequently. It has worked very well for me in the past and it is something that I enjoy.

Now, my wife and I need a printer. I don't care about printers one bit. I work out of my home office and travel to customers throughout the week, and need the convenience of a home printer to print out a quick document to present to said customers. Any large documents I can prepare in advance for and have my company print (my company's office is about 20 minutes away). Beyond that, my wife and I just need it to print the occasional document for whatever reason. The world of printers seems to be a formidable friggin' mess, and one I don't care to traverse. You all are the experts, please just tell me a good printer to get.
