Trek Checkpoint alternatives?

 You still have space for a 45-millimeter wide tire with 6-millimeter clearance around the wheel and the frame. That's a big, big improvement. We also, like the Synapse released a few months ago, have a threaded bottom bracket, so no more BB30, and an external seat clamp and you fit a regular round seatpost, either a carbon save one like this or a dropper seatpost if you want to do some gnarly off-road riding. The frame has also lost around 100 grams of weight and the kingpin suspension has been updated with bushings rather than bearings

 You have fat tires, of course, but I'm running high pressures, 40 psi minimum at the back to account for extra weight from the bags, but despite such high pressure and riding a really rough and rocky and dry terrain, as you can see, we've had a heat wave here for a few weeks now and the ground is really, really hard. That kingpin rear suspension, but not actually suspension, but engineered flex in the rear stays does lead to much more comfort than a fixed rear triangle. It's something you can actually see working. I had a friend, Craig, riding a topstone carbon with a lefty fork and beside him, I could see his rear triangle kingpin area actually moving and flexing as I ride along behind him

 That's what you want in a bikepacking bike, a bike that can be at home and definitely shine in all different situations but some of which you might never have encountered before. I have a road bike which I do like. However I haven't rode it in 2 years and it's been doing nothing but collecting dust. I stopped riding it for two reasons:

1. Hurts my neck after 3 hours of riding or so
2. Tired of dealing with drivers on the road. This is the biggest reason to be honest.

Since then I've been using my hardtail but I find it a bit too slow and uncomfortable at really long distances. If I get a gravel bike I think I'm going to sell the road bike.

What do you think I should do?

My purpose of riding will be riding for fun, as an alternative to walking (as a smooth cardio workout) in paved roads and an occasional off-road adventure aswell. I'm torn between Gravel-Trekking-MTB. any thoughts?

New rider plz help!

I ride a Canyon Grail CF and I ride it very often as a road bike. I find it much more comfortable than when I had a road bike. My pace isn’t much slower if at all, have never gotten a flat and just have a better experience overall. Does anyone else do this or have any reasons not to?
