This Canon Pro-1000 chews through expensive ink like no other. Each and every time it reboots or power is cycled to this device it consumes a boatload of ink. There’s even a catch tray that needs to be purchased to capture all of the ink this printer wastes.  I am not afraid of spending money to refill supplies but unit is completely off the hook

Hello, i want to upgrade my home printer to be able to print paper larger than A4 and A3 printer fit my needs. I currently own Ink Cartridge printer from Canon and i'm 100% satisfied with this printer since as of today it has no records of it being broken/need repair. before i own this ink cartridge printer, i also own a printer that has tank in it that i need to fill with bottled ink.. i don't remember what was the printer model and i'm not sure if it was canon or epson but the printer broke down a lot, the problem usually involve ink and i'm disappointed with it.

What i want to ask is, Does Ink Tank printer nowadays better than the old Ink Tank printer? if they do, i plan to use the printer once in a while.. i don't print often but when i do, its usually to copy important documents. maybe i print photo once in a while or so and i'm afraid if i use Ink Tank it will dry faster than Ink Cartridge (my experience tells me that Ink Cartridge is the best for my use case).

For reference, this is my current option Brother MFC-J3530 or MFC-T4500DW.. Scan+Copy+Print is a must, from google search (which leads to reddit thread).. people recommend Canon Pro 200 (which is available for purchase) for good quality print but it has no scanner+copy in it, i might consider this if the difference in quality is really that big for photo printing.
