 I jumped on this board and had a blast in the deep pow, which this board kind of sits around, you know, more of a park kind of all-mountain-ish snowboard. And it did really well on the pow, had a lot of fun in it, riding it, switching regular of like quite a few times, just jumping around, very smooth from spinning around, you know, spinning your 180s. You didn't really have to force yourself back to regular or anything like that. And that brings me into being why and what is asym, asymmetrical boards are where there's a deeper side cut to the heel edge, so it feels more like your toe edge

 It really just let me pilot around the hill. And when I wanted to spin it and do some side hits and throw some threes around, it really helped me do that. Plus it never took away when I was in the deep pow. As you see in this video, there's a lot of pow riding and it was that kind of scenario where I'm like, hey, I got to ride the pow boards in the pow and a twin ASIM board in the pow and it rode really well

I'd recommend this board to take a look at, like, you know, I mean, go down to your board shop that has it, take it, smell it, do the sniff test, do the flex test. And you know what I mean? Talk to those guys

 That being said, it's the, from when in the back of the 80s when they made race boards, they make race boards and your feet are set up positive. And so it makes it so the heel edge starts a little bit below the toe edge contact point. As well as some companies do make like a magnet traction or edge profiling that is also shifted in the board to make your board track better on the heel edge. In the last few years, I've ridden a lot of these asym boards and I've enjoyed every single one

Capita Asymulator Snowboard Review

I just learned how to snowboard this past year in the Vermont mountains.  I picked it up rather quickly and looking to make the jump to a nice board that will last. My friend had an old Burton Flying V he let me use for the season and am not sure if I want to go with the newer model. 

I am looking for an all mountain board that has speed with control down the Northeast groomed trails. I don't really do park features unless its small jumps and boxes. I would prefer a direction or true twin board.

Burton Flying V, Jones Mountain Twin, Lib Tech Skate Banana, and the Never Summer Protosynthesis are four I have narrowed it down to after some research. Obviously if someone has a better recommendation please comment.

Heard you guys like CAPITA. So I dug up some of the photos and wanted to share a photo of the CEO himself showing the warehouse.

I feel like a lot of reviews online talk about this board being for “expert” riders, that it’s not forgiving. I’m definitely on the advanced end of intermediate, but those reviews have kind of turned me off to getting one. Can anyone comment on their skill level and how they like the Merc? Specifically curious how catchy it is compared to some of those full camber boards. Like if you can be carefree slugging beers all day or if you need to be tuned in every second riding the board. Thanks!

Question for those who’ve ridden Capita’s Mercury

As the title says I'm in the market for a true twin snowboard which is playful for side hits, small/med jumps but which is not a brick in powder and can grip for a carve.

Don't want to go past 154 and I weigh about 85KGs.

Current quiver:
2020 Orca 153
2018 Iguchi Pro 159
2014 Artefact 153 (dud for indoor only)

I've almost decided on the Westmark rocker (I like grip-tech) but wanted to see if the crowd has any wisdom before I pull the trigger.

Would welcome any thoughts including asym.

Recommendation for True Twin

Id like a all mountain freestyle type board for the ice coast. Im somewhere in between beginner and intermediate right now but going hard this season. Don't mind a punishing learning curve, but not too steep. I want somethin carvy and good at jumps. Speed would be cool for bombing but not priority.

Looking at a gnu antigravity. Seemed like a great fit for me, but perhaps there's a better board that's similar

Need a board yep

It also kicks ass everywhere else on the mountain. Capita asymulator: this is essentially an asymmetric DOA so it holds it's heel edge a little better. However once it's broken in it also rides a bit softer ( due to the flax stringers replacing the DOAs carbon ones) and throws over rails more easially while still rocking all over the mountian.

So currently I'm using a 2018 Burton Custom X snowboard, but recently I've wanting to get into freestyle snowboarding so I'm looking for a snowboard that I could use for learning to freestyle. After I've learned a little bit I will want to transition to that snowboard from my Custom X. I would be riding that snowboard outside the park a lot too so I don't want something that's only park oriented. I've been looking into it a little and as of right now I've got two options: the 2020 capita Defenders of Awesome and 2020 burton Free Thinker, so I guess my question is would these snowboards be something I'm looking for or should I take a look at something else?

What snowboard should I buy?

I'm 5' 8", about 165 lbs. I'm looking to replace my 153 Niche Aether all mountain with something newer and with improved performance. 

Riding style would probably be all mountain free-ride. I almost never go in the park, but love sidehits and jumps on the mountain. Love trees, steeps, and carving groomers. 

Powder performance isn't a huge priority as I have a Rossi Sushi that I use for deeper days. I live in Colorado so usually riding Front Range mountains.

Have been thinking about the Never Summer Proto Two, Capita Asymulator, T Rice Pro. 

Graphics are somewhat important to me.
