 I placed an order for a replacement ash pan on 6-17-18, and the part is STILL on backorder. I have talked with Char-griller on 2 different occasions and on each one "the part would be in within 2-3 weeks". My last communication was a month ago. I hate to say it, but their product is worthless if I can't use it because everything is coming from China

I have used this AKORN to smoke some awesome pork butts, ribs and the occasional chicken or beef roast. It's much easier to use than other smokers and a lot less work. Once i get the coals going and set the dampers. It's just a matter of waiting for it to finish, I also get great results grilling burgers, steaks or chops

I purchased this in April and have used it nearly 3x a week since. Yes, April charcoal BBQ in Nova Scotia in freezing temps. Kamado's make that easy because they're so well insulated and this one is no exception. But there's nothing close to comparable in performance at the price and it has worked excellently all of this time

 For perfect results buy both the cooking stone and the pizza stone. I use the cooking stone for indirect heating of the pizza. I then place the pizza stone directly on the cooking grate. I buy the pre-made crust in the store

 My gas grill sets in my grill gazebo unused, since purchasing my Kamado. I was never able to master cooking on charcoal grills, before purchasing the Kamado grill. My problem was regulating a consistent heat. With the Kamado temperature is easily regulated

 That being said, Char Griller does stock a number of parts for their grills. I reached out to the company to negotiate a better price, but they do not negotiate. Apparently salesmanship and going the extra mile to satisfy customers is not a company priority. Still, we needed a new grill and the Kamado Joe which appears to be the Cadillac of grills is just ridiculously over-priced
