Codenames

(spymaster confirmed this is what she did because--like I said--my friends don't see any issue with Google). Rinse & repeat with words like "cocinellidae", "stellification", "pycnocline", "Shihmen"--you get the idea. I think this is bullshit whether or not it's allowed by the tournament hosts because it defeats the point of Codenames, being trying to bridge the gap between how you associate words in your head and how others associate words in theirs. I see it as relying on an objective third-party decoder/encoder to bypass the very cognitive association that the game is founded upon, but they disagree.

We were drinking and this one woman is just very obnoxious. During a game of Codenames she was the clue giver against me and I just quit because she would react when her teammates were talking over the clues and when they would say something like "I think Bark makes sense, what about you?" she would put the tile down if it was right even if they didn't physically touch the card.

Me and my friend group have some heavy hitting games such as gloomhaven, nemesis, scythe, codenames, galaxy truckers, and sushi party go, but I never really got interested in betrayal at house on the hill. We usually spend more than double the time needed playing it. I get that the house layout is ever changing and will never be the same, but I can say the same for galaxy trucker when I build a ship. The unique end game encounters are a good thing, but I really do like games that have everything happen to everyone at once.

**10 - Codenames** - I love this game's actual gameplay, but there are a couple of aspects that really frustrate me. It's a game that wants to be played by 6+ people, but the amount of downtime is a hard sell for a lot of groups. It's also a game that I am a real rules stickler for but that I can *never* get people to abide by. But I also understand it.

Cooperative games: fun because they require teamwork rather than competition (We love Pandemic Legacy, Clank Legacy and Codenames Duet). Euro-style games: less direct attacking (Wingspan, Caverna and Azul are current favorites). Card Games: typically shorter games and feel less mean (Fox in the Forest Duet is a good one). Stick with her, communicate and be patient.
