Bought one. Going to pair this with a EVGA Z370 Micro I scored for $75.99 brand new on clearance a few days ago on EVGA's website. Also got a Cooler master hyper 212 black edition for $35

[CPU] Intel Core i5-9600K 3.7 GHz Six-Core LGA 1151 Processor - $174.99 ($259.99 - $85)

Purchased this CPU Cooler due to my CPU running hot as of late. It is a 6-year old computer with an AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black CPU running at up to 3100 MHz and I don’t overclock. Not sure if it was due to the age of my CPU, or the Stock CPU cooler, or maybe background software conflicts causing stress on the CPU. But it was reaching 70+ deg

C. HAPPY ;-)  The problems are these: 1) Excellent diagrams, but ZERO verbal info. 2) Hardware design weaknesses. 3) Hardware life concerns

CM Hyper 212 EVO Review – Excellent Cooling, but assembly difficulties

 It is a little bit fiddly working out which bit is which but certainly once you've got the bits done and you're kind of a little bit used to it, absolutely brilliant. Obviously if you want to increase the cooling a little bit more you can add that extra fan if you want to with the included equipment. Which would then actually probably put it a little bit closer to the D15 which again is still phenomenal considering the price difference and even the size difference. So overall I would say if I was to give this a star rating it's got to be a 4

 When we get to those higher temperatures and pushing those 12 cores and 24 threads in Cinebench obviously it is going to push this thing to the absolute limits. But there was no throttling as such, the actual clock speeds were slightly lower, didn't throttle as such but just didn't boost as high as it would have done with the D15. So there's a 50 to 100 MHz difference across the cores so there is that to it. If you're looking for the utmost performance you can get out of your processor then obviously spending more money on something like the D15 is going to make a little bit of sense

 When I start using the computer for 3D programs or video intense games, the temps get up to 98°F (37°C). Some of that I'm sure is from the big video card, pushing up heat from below.  This isn't a quiet fan. None of them (that I bought) are

  I have read that the stock fan/cooler cools the chip to around (80°C) 176°F which isn't a bad temp for a chip. I believe that "normal" operating temps of things is around 180°F. But still. 

  This isn't a quiet fan. None of them (that I bought) are. Of course, the speed can be adjusted, but it doesn't quiet it down much at all, & too low will have the temps rise quickly, needing more flow & speed. So I knock off one star for that, because it's 2020, & quiet fans are as common as quiet mice & keyboards

 Then I check the screws before putting the mobo in to the case.  I haven't ever had to re-apply thermal paste to a Cooler Master cooler in all of the years I have been using them exclusively. Quality thermal paste & attention are what is important to these high quality parts.

 Everyone's favorite air cooler is getting some really useful design upgrades. So I'm going to go through the three main design changes to Cooler Master's ultra-popular Hyper 212 EVO. This is version 2, and the first change that's going to be useful for a lot of builders out there is that they've moved to an asymmetrical layout. So now you get more room for those tall sticks of RAM that always seem to just kind of butt up awkwardly against your cooler

 Up top is what you'll see most of the time if you get this cooler, which is where the heat pipes terminate. They aren't very pretty, but it does keep the cost down. Following the heat pipes down the height of the cooler, we can check out what makes the Hyper 212 Evo a well known good performer. Beneath the base plate, which we'll check out in a second, is where four heat pipes travel through

 So before we move on to the install, we'll need to check out all the stuff that comes with it. First off we have a plastic clamshell package containing all the little bits, specifically four fan screws, which are actually black on the models you'll buy today, an AMD set of retention bolts, an Intel set of retention bolts, a hex nut to Philips head adapter, four nuts, and a tube of thermal paste which we won't be using since I want to perform a fair test of all the coolers, and thermal paste would just be another variable. Outside of that package is a second set of brackets to attach a second fan. These are made of the same plastic as the cooler, which will break if you over tighten the screw into the fan

 First things first we're going to unbox it and check out all it has to offer inside. Then we're going to mount it onto the motherboard and we'll test it with a single fan it has, that will be our standard thermal test. Then we're going to do a maximum thermal test by replacing that single fan with two EK Varda 2200 RPM fans. We'll then compare those two results and see what the difference is between the included single fan and two high performance fans

 It didn't really just perform very well. It performs seriously well with the cooler it has by itself, 600 to 1600 RPM cooler. It's a fantastic package out of the box. It's not the cheapest cooler you can get

I noticed that my cpu is going beyond 90C° when playing games, i was using the stock cooler, I'm a little tight on money right now and can't afford an AIO or an expensive air cooler, I don't care about the sound coz I'm using headphones, so are there any cheap air coolers around 30$-50$  that i could use for now ?
