I purchased the Coop Home Goods Premium Adjustable Loft Shredded Memory Foam pillow for the first time in December 2016.  I have a big head, literally (not figuratively), and a side-sleeper. Growing up, my mom had an old fashion feather pillow that would stab my neck and face. It started my journey into finding a good pillow

 I slept through the whole night, and no longer had neck or shoulder pains. The loft of the pillow was high enough and soft enough that my life as a side-sleeper became heaven on earth. The stuffing/filling, shredded memory foam, had such an interesting feel. It was soft like a polyester pillow, moved like a feathered pillow, but when pressed down was dense enough to support the head and neck like one of those solid memory foam pillows

 I would toss and turn throughout the night, or wake up from neck and shoulder cramps. So I went on Amazon and purchased the Coop Pillow almost 3 years ago hoping the reviews were true and the high loft and soft shredded memory foam would help support my giant head.  When I first received the Coop Pillow, the pillow was vacuum sealed and had a foam chemical smell which lasted for about 3 days before disappearing. I recommend airing it out before using it

 I swapped my flattened Coop Pillow for her pristine Coop Pillow and we’re both happier for it. She’s finally using her Coop Pillow (my old pillow) to sleep on.  Overall, I would rank the Coop Pillow as a 3.5 out of 5 stars after 2

Long Term 4 Year Review

 You can take it out. That's really going to allow you to adjust the loft and height of the pillow. The soft outer cover is removable. It's a mix of rayon or viscose from bamboo and polyester

Coop Home Goods Original Adjustable Pillow Review

This has been a MESS, let me tell you. So okay. 3-4 years ago, my kind brother got me a new mattress from Mattress Factory, everything fine. It's still okay and I don't want to rep it yet.

The trouble is I have been getting night sweats recently. (Prolly my age and going into peri) Been trying to rep everything, including my sheets, short of the mattress. I'm having trouble finding JUUUST the right blanket tho. I've tried a thin thermal blanket, I froze. I got a cotton quilt that wasn't filled with cotton, (50% cotton 50% poly), I boiled.

I think I need something in between, any help in finding one that'd not break the bank? (Rather go less than 100 bucks, please.)

Also my pillow (which is from Tuesday Morning; cotton cover but filled with poly) has gotten really hot too. Been being a Princess and the Pea with pillows since it's been ridiculously hard to find one that won't roast me that won't cost too much, any ideas there? I'm a back sleeper and 5'6 btw. (Recently had to return one from Ghostbed since it was hot and too lofty, ugh.)

Oh and just so everyone knows, I tried the new sheets without the poly mattress protector (thin one) last night in hopes it'd be a little cooler. Nope. If there's a thin cotton one I'd appreacate! And yes, I've tried a cooling one there; too cold!!

Argh. I got the dreaded night sweats. Trying to find a lightweight bedspread/blanket/comforter that won't set them off so I can sleep! (Pillow a problem too)

  When I was getting ready to return the thing, I noticed something when I was returning the stuffing to the pillowcase; there were large chunks of extremely cheap furniture foam mixed in with the memory foam. Intrigued, I picked out about a handful, then a handful of just the memory foam. The difference in density is shocking when you separate and squeeze them. When I pressed them against my face, I realized that those big chunks of cheap foam were causing the lumps I struggled with

 My neck did not hurt either morning after removing the cheap foam. I slept great last night after removing that little bit of extra stuffing. If you're struggling with this pillow like I was, throw on a movie and take the couple hours it takes to pick that junk out, because it really does make a remarkable difference.  I've been fooled into thinking pillows are the magic cure for my neck in the past

I tried removing all but a layer that was maybe an inch and a half high, and putting an older, softer pillow (more for stomach/back sleepers than side sleepers like me) on top of it. I couldn't feel the lumps right on my face, but it didn't feel right on my neck and that pillowcase full of loose stuffing sitting next to the bed seemed like a huge waste of money. I initiated the return process on amazon the next morning

I’m 5’10 176 lbs. I’ve been dealing with neck pain for years on and off. I just got back from the doctor and had a cat scan done. No herniated discs or fractures but now I need an MRI done to see what’s fully going on. However I think part of it has to do with my pillow. I hate laying flat on my back however whenever I lay on my side I feel a strain on my spine / neck and it gets super uncomfortable. So I’m not sure what pillow can help me out. I heard good things about buckwheat pillows and some others but I wasn’t sure exactly what to pick. Thanks for the help!

Pillow recommendations for a side sleeper

 I probably end up flipping my pillow about 4 times a night, which from the "PERFECT" Pillow that I wanted for myself seems like a bit high, I shouldn't have to flip a pillow that is perfect even once in my opinion!  HOWEVER, all that aside, I do love this pillow and unless someone can actually recommend to me an even better one (that is similar) I will most likely keep it. The Purple Pillow and the Snugglepedic have been Refunded, this is the last one remaining to choose if I want it to stay, and so far I am leaning toward Yes. To specify, the reason I am still very happy with this pillow is because it provides me with the exact amount of firmness that I require to keep my neck/head level ratio to be comfortable as a Side-Sleeper as well as someone who sleeps on their back from time to time. Not only is it able to provide the exact amount of firmness and support that I require, it does so somehow magically by also being extremely soft and cozy

 My suggestion for anybody reading this review would be to do the same, do a little research, and order at least 3-4 Pillows with around 100 night trials that have been highly rated and try each of them to see if you will like it. That is the only possible method to finding the perfect pillow for YOU, because everybody is different, and it doesn't matter how many reviews you read in the end the only way you will know is if you test them yourself!  That being said, as I had mentioned earlier I tried 2 "High-End" Pillows before ordering this COOP Pillow and as they say "third time's the charm" because I FINALLY Found the Pillow I decided to keep, this one, the Coop! It's great! I mean it really is, I had SUCH a Hard time not giving this a 5 Star review, it is NEARLY the perfect pillow for me in every way.. except for 1 way and unfortunately I wouldn't be true to myself if I gave a full 5/5 Star Review to a product that has even 1 flaw, which I will explain

. and then everything's all great and shiny stars and jumping sheep until this repeats itself and you have to flip the pillow again.  From the inside stuffing to the Pillow Cover they send with it, everything is SO unbelievable soft it just feels great to squeeze and put your hand through, when I first got it I probably spent hours just squeezing the damn thing because it felt so good to do so haha. No other pillow I have ever tested has this unique sense of softness to it, especially not one that can also provide this amount of firm support. In addition to this, one of my favorite things about this pillow is that Coop also sends you an extra baggy full of Pillow stuffing that you can use in order to provide more support for your pillow, all you gotta do is add more stuffing inside and you can customize your own pillow to your specific needs! I tried this out and added about 40% of the additional stuffing I received from them into the pillow to get the perfect adjustment I need and it worked out great! All of this and they offer the 100 night trial, I would highly recommend this pillow at least to test it out!! Honestly if I don't return it in the end because of the heat issues I am having with it then I will probably keep it and use it forever. If only I could have this SAME EXACT Pillow but w/o it getting so hot so easily, then I would say it is the true perfect pillow of all time!! Well, good luck and happy shopping! COOP Pillow Wins! 100 Night Trial Review vs competition

 Well, we were thrilled a year or two when we found our first coop pillows! They were like heaven to sleep on and even caused hubby and mine neck and upper back pain to cease! It was amazing! Well, that is until a few months ago when the foam started to cave under my husband's head. Well we bought him a replacement and a back up for me as well. It broke my heart when they changed the design! Old pillow design The foam inside were cut little balls (like a melon scoop would do) The pillow foam was a choice you could select like soft, medium or firm (or whatever the words were) The pillow offered support everywhere and the foam did not shift or move under your weight It was perfect bring it back!!!  The new pillow design The foam is literally shaved peices, almost as if the just swept up the leftovers from the foam mattress company and stuffed it in a bag The foam is one firmness only, which is unfortunately, soft (not firm at all) After 2 weeks my husband used up all my extra fluff, his fluff, and ordered more fluff for just 1 pillow. The foam parts easily requiring constant refluffing When I bought a refill packet for mine, (which was almost the price of a 2nd pillow which would have been more cost effective to do), the fill was like horrible confetti that threw up all over my room

 If you were to come to my house, you would walk in the door and see a gigantic stack of used, but too expensive to toss, reject pillows that hubby and I would filter through and rotate once the current pillow wasn't giving us a good night's rest anymore. I still love it more than everything else.

  Pros: Very comfortable and no "getting used to it" period More supportive than the Eden Adjustable!  Cons: Sleeps very warm/hot! Intolerant of cold (60 degrees or so and the filling is uncomfortably firm) Extreme chemical stench (your mileage may vary)  Back it went because there is NO comparison between the feel of Eden's cooling, gel-infused memory foam and this sweaty original (NON-gel memory foam) pillow. I think that this original pillow is actually more supportive (which I like) than the softer/squishier Eden, but the fact that it sleeps warm/hot is a complete deal breaker for me.

 The pillow was supportive, slightly responsive (my head did NOT make a big dent where it got stuck all night, like typical memory foam), and just...very, very comfortable

 The pillow sleeps VERY warm, which I haven't had to deal with like, ever -- I prefer latex. It also was uncomfortable when the weather started to shift from winter to spring -- this pillow turned into a rock when the bedroom was chilly, but normal when it was warmer.  Pros: Very comfortable and no "getting used to it" period More supportive than the Eden Adjustable!  Cons: Sleeps very warm/hot! Intolerant of cold (60 degrees or so and the filling is uncomfortably firm) Extreme chemical stench (your mileage may vary)  Back it went because there is NO comparison between the feel of Eden's cooling, gel-infused memory foam and this sweaty original (NON-gel memory foam) pillow. I think that this original pillow is actually more supportive (which I like) than the softer/squishier Eden, but the fact that it sleeps warm/hot is a complete deal breaker for me

Comfy, but sleeps warm/hot. Try Eden first.
