 I did say it was gonna be the 4000 D I did think it was the 4000 D. It's not it's the X the D has got a mesh front the X has got a glass front However, this is what we've got. I'm sorry. I'll try to get a 4000 D for a future episode But out of the box it comes with these three beautiful RGB Corsair fans at the front But no exhaust Anyway, just the three fans at the front

 They will be on there go look at those episodes really really interesting But today it is the Corsair 4000X. Let's get started So as always we're gonna start running the Furmark GPU stress test and CPU burner stress test this will push the CPU and GPU to 100% And then we can start checking for some temperatures It's not kind of real world. It does push it a lot harder than when you're actually gaming So these temperatures probably will be a lot higher than when you're gaming But what it does is it gives us a good idea of how the fans are working and the air temperature actually inside the case So you can see this is a GPU temperature graph. It's going up We just need that to become like a little bit of a steady line

5 Let's see what this is saying now 32.2 calling it So yeah, we can see actually by removing one of the fans at the top and just having a single exhaust The air temperature inside is relatively steady within a couple of points of a degree and actually it's slightly cooler At the back, which is kind of what we want because that's where all the hot stuff is So again, you know, we can definitely see the fog feeding the gpu fans there. So that's working perfectly And what we can also see is the air here isn't escaping out the top as quickly as it was And we do have a flow of air Feeding the both the exhaust but also the cpu as well Well, and what isn't happening that was happening with the previous configurations with the two fans at the top Is the air that immediately comes in isn't getting immediately exhausted But I actually think with this particular case the best use case for the top Probably be with an aio So if you had a dual fan aio that's cooling your cpu i'd absolutely put it at the top there uh, because then you almost want This cold air escaping much quicker through the radiator of the aio So it's cooling the the coolant liquid inside the aio with an air cool system That's not what you want. But with an aio cold system, that is absolutely what you want for me Actually a great case for both air cooling and it'd probably be very good for aio as well If you put the aio at the top So yeah, I really rate that case

 This also made putting in the USB-C front panel connector difficult, which shows an oversight in the case's design itself. [I don't particularly care if the panel is removable, I would think that Corsair products at stock would perfectly fit other Corsair products at stock.] Lastly, I do wish that the case was just a bit longer so I could fit my 360mm radiator up top, but then that would obsolete the RGB connector in there by needing just one more connector [and yeah, I was bad to not do my 110% research but it really does just barely not fit].  Otherwise, for a $140 case with a $70 component pre-installed, it's very solid

 Because of this, the radiator blocks the small slits for the mesh filter on the front, meaning that while it can be placed between the glass and case interior still, it isn't flush, but it seems purely aesthetic and doesn't compromise performance.]

 The grill patterns are also very effective while not beinga bad look or too flashy, and I actually do like that development in Corsair's latest designs.  [To add, a while after I made this review, I swapped my radiator configuration to have fans in a pull configuration rather than push, meaning the fans are on the interior side of the raditor rather than the exterior. Because of this, the radiator blocks the small slits for the mesh filter on the front, meaning that while it can be placed between the glass and case interior still, it isn't flush, but it seems purely aesthetic and doesn't compromise performance.]

A very safe and easy to use case, however can be cramped with additional components.

 My only complaint here with the price is that the XRGB seems a bit too high when compared versus the P500A ARGB model which is only $10 more but seems to offer a lot more in terms of airflow and you can find the P400A with the triple fans under $100 so not only does this case not perform well thermally to what you should expect for $120 for a triple fan configuration but other cases in the market that are pushing towards airflow like beat this case out of the water in terms of GPU and CPU temperatures. Now of course Corsair had released the 4000X airflow edition where the front can be just replaced with something or an airflow panel should be included with the XRGB model then you'd have a beautiful value add of having either something that looks really pretty and kind of standard with the glass or swap it out if you want high performance but we don't have that here so that's kind of really unfortunate but stay tuned for my update when the 4000D airflow comes into the studio. I like the new naming scheme I think it will simplify things because the Eclipse, the Obsidian, the Graphite series from Corsair that was a bit too complicated so hopefully the number scheme moving forward should satisfy

 Good people, I'm Dimitri, I gotta be honest, I was not expecting to like the new case releases from Corsair and they're going through a bit of a brand redesign, the font on the Corsair is different, the sails have changed slightly and the new yellow, I'm not a fan of the new yellow, I like the older slightly more vibrant yellow while the new yellow is muted but leaning towards the greens. It is really interesting though that with this new brand direction, the case direction feels fresher, it feels like the old Corsair that we used to know in terms of delivering beautiful quality and kind of wanting to stand out. And so this is where the new 4000 series of cases comes into play. We have three models, the 4000D, the 4000D Airflow and the one that I have here, the 4000X RGB

 So let's see exactly what this new 4000 series of cases offers and whether or not it should be your next mid-tower case right after this. The new Galahad All-in-One Coolers by Li & Li combining premium materials for a beautiful package to cool your Intel or AMD CPU with black or white color options available both with tasteful aluminum housing and complementing 120 mil ARGB high static pressure fans and you gotta appreciate proper length fan screws.  And so this is where the new 4000 series of cases comes into play. We have three models, the 4000D, the 4000D Airflow and the one that I have here, the 4000X RGB. Price-wise you're looking at $79 for the 4000D and the 4000D Airflow which is not bad at all because you're competing in the Airflow segment and the case itself is pretty excellent but the 4000X RGB, that $40 premium gets you the three RGB fans at the front and the Corsair lighting node core. If you were to buy that separately the equivalent thing is the SP120 RGB kit which has the three fans and the lighting node core so the $40 premium isn't too bad but as the case itself $119 it isn't very competitive

They're BACK - CORSAIR 4000X RGB Case Review

The front and side glass panels are nice and thick, tinted panels. The amount of fans that can fit in this medium-sized case is amazing and exceeds the maximum amount of fan connections on my motherboard (7). The case materials appear to be of good quality and the build quality is very sturdy. Even with glass, the airflow does not fall short with this case

I've recently been learning about how different rgb types work and I thought I had it all figured out. 4 pin is non addressable rgb and 3 pin is addressable. 4 pin being 12v and 3 pin being 5v.


Using my newfound rgb knowledge, I told my friend that it would be fine to plug in his 4 pin rgb strip that he got from Walmart years ago into the 4 pin rgb header on his motherboard. Once he got it set up he noted how extremely bright it seemed, and how extremely hot it was to the touch.


I told him it's probably fine after I read that some rgb strips can run pretty hot. He said it got to the point where it was literally too hot to touch and decided to unplug it. Upon inspecting the rgb strip it was clearly labeled "5v" on one of the connectors.

So moral of the story - 4 Pin isn't always 12v and 3 Pin isn't always 5v. Although for the most part it seems to be. Hopefully I can save someone from making the same mistake, unless everyone already knows this and I just look stupid for posting.

Not all rgb is created equal.

Looks sleek, I didn't notice any dings or bends in the metal anywhere, the air flow seems to be adequate for a 5900X and 6900 XT (I added Arctic fans to the top, and one on the back exhaust spot though).  The RGB fans are kinda gimmicky if you ask me, but they do look cool. I'll give it that. But you definitely should add extra fans for better exhaust

 It does need extra fans for exhaust if you plan to use it for gaming (which you probably do if you're going for a case like this). I think Corsair did great on it. I recommend.

 So it keeps it all nice and clean looking. Another nice touch, which actually there's a lot of that on this. There's a lot of design elements been thrown into this case. Some little things, which really please me actually, things like the Corsair cell logo on the tempered glass there, and there's all kinds of other little bits, like actually on the mesh front here, we've got just a little logo on the bottom there, which again is a tiny thing and most people will probably never see it, but the fact that it's there just adds to that air of quality and class about this case

 That's actually a really nice thing to do. You've also got the glass, it's got a white edge around it, so when you put it in you get your greasy fingerprints on it, they're not going to show through from the back, so you just have to give the front a wipe over, which is really easy to do. So it keeps it all nice and clean looking. Another nice touch, which actually there's a lot of that on this

 But what do you get for your £100 English pounds, give or take a few? Well, you get a dual tempered glass case with IQ RGB fans, and you actually get some pretty amazing build quality. And also, along with it, you get some really cool features and pretty much all the flexibility you could possibly want in an ATX tower case. So where should we start from? Well, probably the best way is to start from the front, because the front is really the key part of this. So as you can see from the front, as standard we've got three fans included, and these are the SP Pro RGBs, which are from Corsair, and again they're part of the IQ system, so they plug into the IQ core node, which is included as well
