 or you can choose the regular version and in this case I went for this blue edition with these very bright orange zippers. All right, we can open this back in two different ways. There is a side zipper here where if you want to grab something quickly, you can do it. but the main zipper is definitely this bright colored one and if you unzip that all the way you'll see it has a clamshell kind of interior with one big space for your clothing with a mesh panel in front of it and three other compartments here also with mesh panels in front that will allow you to store your accessories and your smaller clothing items

 Um, these straps are nice and padded. here. You have load lifter straps, which are very important if you don't know what these are. And maybe you're traveling somewhere where you know those overhead compartments are filled with boxes and chickens and whatever you know you want your backpack that's a little bit flexible, so in that sense, that is a good feature

Large but compact travel bag, lots of pockets, but perhaps not rugged enough?

 Generally, we like the improvements we've seen on the 42 liter version, compared to the 35 liter version, like the adjustable hip belt and the improved harness system. We do have some qualms with the size of the bag and how it packs out, though.. It can start to feel bulky really quickly

 It's good because it kinda stays in place when you set it down, but it can be bad if you're trying to jam this in the overhead compartment or slide it under the seat of an airplane. You Kind of get caught and be a little bit grippy on those surfaces. And Because this bag is a little bit larger at 42 liters,, there are more problems fitting it into smaller spaces when compared with the smaller 35 and 28 liter versions.

 The Internal mesh dividers stretch and don't compress. This Can make the clamshell hard to close, depending on how you packed it. (upbeat music) We Dig this next iteration of the Allpa pack compared to the 35 liter review we did a while back. Cotopaxi Seems to be listening to their customers and we like the improved features like the larger sized laptop compartment and adjustable hip belt

 It makes it a little bit more balanced to carry when adjusting it with the straps and the hip belt. These Load lifters also have a fabric sleeve on the front so you can stuff the excess strap inside it just to keep a little bit of a cleaner look and we like that little touch.. The Sternum strap is nice and adjustable as well,

I love everything about this bag but the hip straps - unfortunately that's a pretty critical part of the bag!  It is a bit long for my short torso - I'm five feet tall. But even when the hip straps fit comfortably they're too high or too low. The load lifters worked nicely to offset the weak hip straps, but both could be a bit more durable.  There are lots of cool pockets! I'm not sure why the bag comes with its own rain fly when the outside seems somewhat water resistant

 You might not think it by looking at it, but I got all of my clothes and shoes for an entire two-month road trip, plus a few items I picked up along the way. Packed inside this thing. you've got the main pocket here, some accessory pockets up at the top, another very spacious pocket for shoes, dirty clothes or whatever right here, and then a big front top pocket that fit a pair of sneakers, sneakers. And since we mentioned how many six packs and succulents you could fit in the last coat of Paxi bag we reviewed, I guess we have to make that a thing now

 A heavy duty handle is attached to every side. Uh, that's four handles guys, so you can pick it up, carry it around, and toss the bag however you need. It also has stowable backpack straps with a stowable hip belt that lets you pack it around comfortably, or you can hide them away if you'll be carrying it by hand. Another thing to mention, the 35 liter Alpha is also carry-on friendly, not personal item friendly

 That can definitely keep you strapped while we're still on the back side of the bag. There's two zippers on each side in the back. This one gives you a laptop compartment. Now, since Tom and I were traveling together, we only took one laptop and we actually kept it in my bag this time

 It's really contained and the straps themselves and as you could see the waist belt all tucked into the bag. So if you have to do like we did when we were in French Polynesia all the inter-island flights, this bag was just one kilogram over the weight limit for the carry-on They let us check it for free so it's not a big deal. I think it could have fit under the seat on the smaller American Airlines planes. so like the Airbus 321s, uh it doesn't fit in the overhead compartment, but it does fit under the seat so it's not a big deal

 This one gives you a laptop compartment. Now, since Tom and I were traveling together, we only took one laptop and we actually kept it in my bag this time. Now on this other side, the zip gives you immediate access to the inside of the main compartment of the bag. One of the things I would say we both really liked about the bag is that it doesn't have a bunch of like cords and straps and like dangly components

It seems like a good layout. Well made, getting it on sale was what sold me, I have a bunch of carry on bags, each one for different situations. this seems like it will be good for flights and train travel. Harness and hip belt are well padded but still easy enough to tuck away

 And the hip belt on that bag is useless, too thin. I think you can use the rain cover when you put the bag in the overhead compartment so the material does not wear away as many people seem to whine about.
