If you're looking to get into 3D printing for the least amount of money possible, the Creality 3D Ender 3 Pro is a great bet. The bulk of the assembly is completed at the factory, so it is much quicker to put together than a full kit, but you still need to attach all the main assemblies and plug in the wiring harness. This takes an hour or two, and there are plenty of resources available from the manufacturer or third parties to help walk you through it. However, it can be a bit daunting if you aren't tech-savvy or well-versed in 3D printers in general. It also can be improved quite a bit by some printed or purchased upgrades. Despite the more involved assembly process, this is still our top recommendation for anyone on a tight budget. Unlike some other bargain models, the Creality 3D Ender 3 Pro is a printer that you won't immediately outgrow — but expect to treat the machine like a project of its own, rather than just a tool.

 It does have a cooling fan, but the difference is that cooling fan only comes on when it needs to reducing the noise. When the printer is sitting there at idle, I think on paper that the printer should now be safe. I mean well is a trusted brand and it's built that reputation from years of quality products. Therefore, there should be even smaller chance than before of anything failing and catching on fire

Ender 3 Pro review: What’s different and is it worth the extra money?

This looks amazing, especially with the red PCB and the window. It matches perfectly with the black theme, the contrast between the color and matte black is great. The little window is by far my favorite thing about this.

First time creating something in CAD

 So to correct this I had to invest in a BLTouch so I can do a mesh bed leveling - otherwise if I zero to those corners and print in the area the nozzle will gouge the bed. So at this point I'm unwilling to deal with them any further - after giving me such a fuss over a bracket and a cheap mat can you imagine the response I'd get for an entire heating bed? So - buyer beware indeed. I will be contacting Amazon finally to see if I can't get a little better response. I will update if anything changes

Updated: Decent cheap printer that needs better quality control and better customer service

 This is what i printed on it. These are running so we're going to do a sound floor right so just going to look at what is the current sound level and then we'll compare it once we have the printer running all right, so you can see it's anywhere from between 45 and 53.. Let'S get the printer running all right, so the printer started, i'm going to do is go back to our sound and then we'll see how quiet it is not much difference

 This is really nice. It'S a very, very durable part um. This is a a leg holder for 3d printer. I did some petg right

 Carbon fiber, so we're going to be taking a look at the overall print samples that we've gotten using some carbon fiber filament that we have in our kind of lab area and you'll see how good this quality is, so that pei spring steel sheet is for printing. Those higher temperature materials, but it's going to work well with against standard pla, petg, abs and all the things that you're printing normally now. In addition to that, the nozzle temperature has changed quite a bit. Uh you're going to be able to raise the temperature all the way up to 300 c and the bed could go all the way up to 100 c now that is again to be able to support these materials that require higher temperature to print now, keep in Mind that when you're printing, these higher temp materials having an enclosure is always a good idea now this has no enclosure, so you're going to see the overall quality that i've gotten printing, petg or abs through this printer, and i have to say that it's done a Really good job, but once again i'm having some type of enclosure, still something that i would recommend now

 This is what i like so much about this uh. This ender series is it's really just out of the box tinker-free. It just works great first layers, no real tweaking you know using standard settings. It'S going

The Best Ender Yet?  Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro!

This is a screaming deal for a home-use machine.  I moved from an ancient Prusa i3 to an Ender 5 plus (at four times the price of this Ender 3 Pro) and have been very, very happy with it.

I’ve spent the last few week on and off working on 3d printing tool mounts for my Ryobi tools. I’m very happy with how it turned out and there’s even some room left for my collection to grow on the board.

Very good experience printing so far, but expect lots of tweaks

TL;DR I love the idea of 3d printing but in the end it made me feel stupid, disheartened and with a spastic back. 

I love people who 3d print and I have always marveled at what can be accomplished with ingenuity, dedication and a 3d printer. I thought I could be one of those people who could print fun stuff and get into different hobbies. I bought an Ender 3 V2 after watching about 20 videos about 3d printers and looking through multiple subreddits for recommendations.

While I waited for 2 days to receive my 3d printer I watched so many videos about it and collected dozens of things to print in thingiverse. I was extremely excited. Finally the printer arrived and I spent the entire evening after work following a video tutorial that was recommended to build it. It was done and I was proud! I've never been good with my hands and I built this machine! What a rush! Time to test it out! I honestly jumped to a thingy I wanted to give to my spouse so I printed out a hobbit hole. The print failed about 10 times. Most people said it had to do with leveling and adhesion. I followed all the advice and I managed to get it printed and it looked great. A lot of trial and error but I finally got it done. Yay! Everything started to go down hill after that and my enthusiasm was replaced with stress and depression.

I wanted to print a final fantasy monster from thingiverse. It would fail about 10% in, every time. I tried following different things but nothing worked. I spent about 5 days trying to print the thing trying multiple things. Every search I did and every thing I dried yielded nothing and even worse, every fix I tried to implement that I found online seemed to make matters worse. My spouse suggested that maybe the model I was using was bad or something. I tried printing out the dog that the printer came with and it worked though it had errors. I tried to fix it. Then I tried to print something else. More errors. Tried to fix those errors. Things got worse. And worse. A lot of people mentioned it was probably a leveling issue so I bought a auto leveling attachment from creality. Nope. More videos more recommendations things got worse. In the span of 2 weeks I:

1. Leveled the bed at least 30 times
2. Changed the filament 3 times thinking that was the problem
3. Measured the entire machine to ensure everything was installed properly. It wasn't.
I deconstructed the machine and rebuilt it at least 4 times. I could never get the z axis bar to be level for the life of me.
4. Tightened all the belts to the deep mystical thwang everyone mentioned.
5. Adjusted and readjusted the wheels and concentric nuts like 20 times or so. I still don't understand how that works. I get the goal they should be movable with my fingers but not free wheeling, but when I have it set up like that the right side feels loose.
6. Changed the platform from glass to the grippy thing to glass again
7. Bought the auto leveler and did that another 30 times. For some reason my machine stopped letting me move the z axis to negative numbers at some point. It was working then it stopped.
8. Flashed firmware to something recommended that had 20 point leveling and a bunch of other things.
9. Cleaned the surface with alcohol and did all that surface stuff. It's not an adhesion issue.


So at the beginning the issue was that the models would fail at around 10%. After all my wonderful corrections my first layers won't even come out right. I was simply trying to print a leveling model with squares of different sizes that was recommended and the edges turn out wobbly and after the very first layer the extruder just pushed the first layer off when applying the second. Basically after all that I managed to get my printer from failing at 10% to failing at. 1%. I have never felt like such a failure in my life.

Add to that the fact that I had to take a day off work because I had back spasms from leaning over the machine for 4 to 6 hours dismantling it over and over.

Now I'm just here in my basement contemplating my decision: do I return the machine and admit that I am a failure or keep trying and let the anxiety and depression take a deeper foothold into my psyche.

This is not a hobby for people who are not mentally prepared for failure lol. I thought I was super confident, but apparently I am not. Be prepared for that if this is a hobby you're planning to go into.
