 I'm not sure why they insist on doing that, right? Not everybody's going to love the ATR 13 MOV thing, right? I mean, would it be cooler if they made a different version of this in D2 steel? And maybe they made it G10 on one side, maybe with a steel liner lock or something like that. Yeah, I think I would probably enjoy that a little bit more. I'd probably pay a little bit more money for it too. I think it'd be excellent if they did a lighter version for people who are concerned with those ratios, which is a lot of people understand

 And the scales feel really nice. The larger folder is large & beefy, but very different. The frame lock takes less force to operate than most, so it's less likely to chew into your thumb nail. Anyway, "stubby" is an appropriate descriptor; "stout" also applies (which translates into heft -- it this knife is deep in your pocket, you'll notice it)

 The portion of the blade that cut me, on both occasions, was the portion of the shorter chisel edge that meets the spine. The blade is sharp, there is no doubt about that.  I'm not sure if it's the shape & size of my hands (wide palms with long fingers; my hands are truly larger than most, I wear a Men's glove size 2XL), or if it's how I'm forced to hold the knife with my large hands. But I do know that while I really like the design of this knife, I'll probably never get to find out how long either edge will last -- the risks for using this knife, for me, outweigh the benefits, especially when there are plenty of other knives to choose from

And there's a weird feature that appears to be a flipper; it's weird because it's far too short to be effective.  My issue -- & apparently I'm the only one with the issue here, is that I cut myself opening the knife, twice, in the same place on the same finger, in the first two weeks I owned it

 This one was more of an tightly arc-shaped cut that bled profusely. One side of the arc was easily a quarter inch, while the other side was more like half an inch long. The portion of the blade that cut me, on both occasions, was the portion of the shorter chisel edge that meets the spine. The blade is sharp, there is no doubt about that

Two Lacerations in Two Weeks, Same Place

 I will continue to alternate carry this just because i did make an exciting purchase. My first bench made so i'm going to be switching off to that, but i still really really like this knife. So i'm going to be, you know switching off every once in a while, just because i do like the feel and the overall design of this blade and it's useful to me for the things that i like to do so. So it's sharp here as well as the standard down at the bottom, and it's just got a really thick fat boy, blade really good. So it's very durable the weight and feel of it is really good. You know you're looking instead of like 80 or under for this you're, looking for like upwards to the 400 range, which, in my opinion, it can be worth it. If it's, you know an appropriate piece, but not everyone's in the market for a super, expensive high-end knife

 My rule of thumb is if it fits perfect great if it's a little longer okay, manageable, but if it's too short for your hand, then you're going to run into problems because then the balance of the knife isn't there the rest, just kind of falls apart. That'S the nature of the beast. I think that goes for almost all carries, but just keep that in mind. So when you read a review, if they say anything about like the the feel of it and the handle length, just uh look at the spec and try to dial down if this will fit your hand

Great little knife

 It feels really good just enough to keep it very well balanced, especially for the blade thickness and size which i'll get into in a moment. Here now the handle is aluminum 6061. It'S got some grooves and indentations here for additional grip, along with a brushed finish, which also gives you a little bit of additional grip. We have a deep carry pocket clip here now, unfortunately, it's not movable, so this sits in my right pocket, but it opens away from me

 So let's go ahead and get started. Let'S dive into some of the specs so with the blade, closed, we're looking at a length of 4.6 inches so about 116 millimeters, and it weighs about 4.3 ounces, so not very heavy at all

  Conclusion. This knife is a great folder for EDC (every day carry) if you can mind the width and weight. Consider the removal of the grips and clips for a smaller width (you'll want to smooth out the steel handle's edges). This knife is worth a bit more then it's current price, I'd say about $35

 Thick steel for both handles and blade (.26mm thick). Quite the solid build with 3 contact (2 at the lower half of the handle and 1 at the blade's pivot). The 2 lower half contacts are 2 torx screws and a spacer

 And the blade's pivot is a sex bolt.  Blade. Hollow grind for both cutting edges. Thumb stud are on both side, however the stud on the left of the blade makes it more naturally for the right-handed folks (

 Consider the removal of the grips and clips for a smaller width (you'll want to smooth out the steel handle's edges). This knife is worth a bit more then it's current price, I'd say about $35. The steel used for the blade is fairly good steel, it is by all means not high-end but it is also not the lowest. The steel is also a bit harder then other knives, as I reprofiled the cutting edge to a ~15-20 angle (took some time with extra extra coarse diamond whetstone!)

 Enter the Razel.  I re-discovered the Razel when scanning Amazon for a Kershaw Scallion (another slightly odd-looking blade that is eminently practical), and reading about 500 more reviews than is good for me. All of that and under $25 shipped? Say no more. I ordered mine on April 29 and received it on May 2; your mileage may vary

 That sharp blade on my example is not ground evenly from one end to the other; you can see a slight sine-wave from the tang to the tip. And, when the blade is open, there is a gap between the lock and the scale on that side. I can see how something like natural horn could be brittle in that position if dropped or struck. Blah, blah, blah, so it's not perfect

 Yup! With BOTH edges! Don't believe the arm-hair test? I also took it to a standard junk-mail envelope. The "primary" blade shaved strips effortlessly (that's's 'hold one corner of the envelope and shave away from yourself like whittling'). The front edge did the same, in a 'pushing' fashion. I also sank the corner of the blade ( where the two edges meet) into the envelope, and it penetrated and cut easily from there, too

A unique blade, and a good value!

 I loved the idea when I first heard about it and I still love the idea now. The execution, however, is lacking.  For a $50 product, I'm very disappointed in the quality of the knives I received. Photos of this sucker online are beautiful, with very neat, even bevels all around, but both blades I've gotten are lazy at best

Great Knife, Terrible QA

 This caused the liner lock to push the blade against the liner and would cause scratching on the blade if not readjusted. This can be easily fixed with a little thread-locker and the right size torx driver, though. The other problem is the Ram Horn scales that I got bend away from the liner on one corner allowing it to snag occasionally on clothing. This more than likely isn't going to occur on most of the knives produced so, it's also not a significant problem

If the rest of the review hasn't told you how I feel about this AWESOME blade, this should.

 It's small enough to fit in the coin pocket of most jeans and be there when you need it. The first thing you notice before the box is even opened is the weight. For such a short knife, it's got some heft! It needs it though, because the Razel is designed to work hard. You can use the tip to pry open paint cans, scrape paint or stickers from windows, smooth gasket surfaces, and more

  If the rest of the review hasn't told you how I feel about this AWESOME blade, this should... I'm buying at least 2 more to give as Christmas gifts this year

Great Knife for DIYers

Let me start by saying I'm a knife snob. I normally carry Strider or Warren Thomas knives. I'm very hard on gear, and have no problem carrying high end knives and using them hard.

 If i were to do it over again I would have bought the slightly larger model. The handles are ok. I would prefer to see g10 or micarta, but that would undoubtedly raise the price point. It does not hold an edge very well however anyone with rudimentary sharpening skills will have no problem maintaining an edge
