The first thing I noticed when I got it out of the box is that the steel is thin. I guess I just expected it to be sturdy since it was a good brand. I cleaned it and roasted vegetables in it today. It did okay and I will keep it, however if I saw it in a store I would pass

Not quite as expected

  The handles do stick out from the sides of the pan, but this was not an issue for us as it fit just fine in our oven with our giant bird (23 pounds this year) and to me it seemed easier to lift out with these handles. I can see where it would be an issue if your oven was smaller, though. It was sturdy and seemed well made. As other reviewers have pointed out, the v-rack is ok

 However, we had no issues with it and it cleaned up just fine.  We used it on the stovetop to cook down the drippings and it handled this fine (however, there is what appears to be a purely cosmetic scorch mark that will not come out, I assume from the stovetop as it is round).  Overall, if you are just planning on using your roasting pan once or twice a year and your oven can handle the size, then I think this is definitely a worthwhile consideration, especially if money is your foremost concern. This seems like a good quality, sturdy pan, and for the price I think it is great

Good Roasting Pan For Price

 A few days ago I decided to buy another. It was the same as the previous one except that the new one has a recessed circular area in the middle of the bottom for apparently no other reason that to highlight the maker's name. The older one also has the name Cuisinart but only slightly embossed leaving the bottom completely flat. The new model's recessed circle is about 1-2 mm deep but it prevents induction heat in that area as infusion REQUIRES direct contact

 I put 2 cups of water in each pan and put them on two burners at various heating level in unison, repeated, switched burners (letting the pans cool to room temp each time). I did that several times and each and every time the newer pan underperformd the older one in response time to temperature (I used a thermometer). Would I buy a Cuisinart pan again? Well, let me put is this way-- I have several pans from this maker. All have fully flat bottoms except the new one

 I calculated that the circle is approx 1/4 of the cooking surface of the bottom and that area has been sacrificed to style-- not to function-- by Cuisinart. Does it make a difference?  . . fantastic! We couldn’t be more pleased, the grate held our roast in perfect position and there were no burned fingers lifting the hot pan. At the end of the day the pan cleaned up so easily and shines like it did right our of the box

 At this point I can say that it is well made and I am certain the positioning of the handles, with a slight angle away from the pan, will be a welcome change; straight up handles on other pans were hard to grip and I always burned my fingers taking the roast out of the oven. I will be able to add the final star on Easter when we cook an 18# rib roast for our family gathering. We don’t cook such a large roast very often but having a decent roasting pan will make a huge difference in the enjoyment I have preparing food.  5/8/2022 I’m finally following up on my previous review for the Cuisinart roasting pan and can sum everything up in one word

Quality Is Just Okay

 It wasn't until I saw a YouTube video that I understand why the eggs got stuck and how to avoid such issues. Since then, I have had better experiences. However, I still prefer the non-stick pan for quick things. The stainless steel pan is great for searing - wonderful in fact

  My wife also used the stainless steel to cook rice. Not the greatest outcome. I'm sure there are tricks that we're still going to have to figure out.  Finally, the look and quality of this set is great so far

This particular item came with a removable rack (and the rack has gripping handles as well) that allows the pan to be used for other cooking necessities, which is very nice! The only "bad" design that I noticed--the gripping handles on the pan are slightly more narrow than the design of the other cookware. This design flaw became noticeable once I placed my 25 lb butterball on rack and all handling thereafter

can use for more than just the holidays

Really love the pan and rack and works great for our weekly roast chicken. However it's not easy to clean off the baked on grease from the pan. Even though I line the pan with aluminum foil and clean with hot soapy water and Barkeepers Friend, it's not enough to fully remove all the grease spots on the sides and edges so this will be an ongoing battle to keep the pan shiny.

Almost perfect

The handles are large and sturdy but our only complaint is that the handles stay very hot for a long time and because they stick up we have burnt our fingers and arms on them when stirring or transferring meat. It would be nice if they came with some silicone sleeves to avoid the burns.
