.. this one's on me for buying a very compact deep fryer. I still have to measure the temperature of the fryer but something tells me it doesn't reach the advertised 375 degrees because a pork chop I deep fried didn't turn out very well after frying it for the amount of time they recommended

 Every time you clean it you need to have the care of a brain surgeon basically because you don't want any water to reach the rest of the appliance. Needless to say, this makes the cleaning way more stressful than it should be, hence making this appliance VERY DIFFICULT to clean as far as I'm concerned since I don't really care about washing something by hand myself. Why did I buy this unit then? Well, I was under the impression that you could take the bowl off, I even searched the Q&A looking for this info and someone says that you could do it. Turns out this listing used to be shared with a different, bigger, deep fryer model from Cuisinart that you could take the bowl apart to clean it and that answer was for that one apparently

 this one's on me for buying a very compact deep fryer. The temperature knob is also kind of useless, most of the markings don't have an actual temperature listed, only two of them do. I say avoid this unit, there are other compact units that don't have the defects I listed here (related to cleaning)

The unit works fine so far, my main issue with it is HOW DIFFICULT it is to clean it, why? Well, you CAN'T take the bowl out to clean it separately from the rest of the fryer and you can't dip the deep fryer in water but it doesn't matter how much you try some water always slips down the appliance from out the bowl when you're cleaning it. That probably won't cause any issues since it's not a lot of water but it's very stressful because you don't really know.  So the lids back on here is your control panel you have your power light and your ready light right on the top the power light lets you know you have power the ready light lets you know that it's up to the temperature that you chose. This fryer goes from 175 all the way up to 375 and today we're going to be frying at 375. On the right on my right your left this is your timer this timer you just turn it goes up to 30 seconds 30 minutes and it will ring to let you know it's done. You can just twist it to disengage it

 The other thing too is that it has nice handles on the side so that when you need to move your fryer around it's really stable to use the handles. The other things that's important to is never move it while it's hot always wait for it to cool off. The oil container inside is also completely removable and it's one gallon. There's a little spout here where you can pour off the oil to properly filter it and store it for use at a later time

 Inside there's also the heating element which is immersed in the actual oil and it's coiled through the oil very efficiently so that the temperature stays to the cooking temperature that you're using and it also recovers very quickly once you put the food in because when you put your food in the temperature of the oil will drop down but you want it to come back up to temperature very quickly. That's important in making for really good fried foods.  The Bad; It takes up some counter space and is not compact, however, if you want to fry decent amounts of food, a larger bin such as this one is needed. The break away cord is short and PIA. The unit has to be near the outlet, otherwise It'll pull it out if you move the unit more than a couple inches. Minor annoyance

A good fryer but small design flaws made it frustrating

First, I have to say I returned it before using it. It wouldn't hold as much food as I expected compared to the oil capacity. The 4 quart notation was misleading as much of that oil is below the basket. By my calculation, there is about of inch of oil that would cover the food so many foods might need to be turned

 I felt the edges of the lid were too sharp. I prefer a fryer with an attached lid so I can close the lid, then lower the basket. That's just safer. There is no charcoal filter

 And while cleaning be aware that this thing has more sharp edges than a Swiss Army knife. I haven’t cut myself but it concerns me each time I clean up. I have had several fryers in the past and this one is mediocre at best. After more then six months using this unit I’m looking for a replacement

This is great fryer and it does a nice job on chicken, fish, fries and more but it is a bear to keep clean and you must keep a eye on the temperature and oil level because it is prone to overflow when dropping foods into the hot oil. I had one giant mess once and have been very careful since. My picture shows all the parts that need to be cleaned after each use unless your inclined to leave the oil in and just cover until your next use. (Not recommend)
