 Maybe I can and that's it's worth it - okay plug it in I've never used this before. This really is the first time, so what I'm doing is is the idiot test really so there we go put it on it clipped in easily and okay. It'S got a little safety lock at the top, which is pretty cool press that once then it's got a high setting or a low setting so push it in then the low setting - and you can.  Probably not ideal for smoothies, but just fine for tomatoes.  On the plus side, this stick blender has a dishwasherable lower piece, which is good, my old one was old-school, and didn't come apart. The blades on this blender are actually SHARP, which improves liquification of whatever I'm blending. (most often canned tomatoes for pizza sauce) I don't know, maybe the product engineers came up with the 'hey, lets have sharp blades!' idea, and the only way they could get that feature past the safety nazis was to have the irritating lock on the end

 The way I use the stick blender is on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off - a lot of on and off. Because this stick blender has a lock button, it makes it pretty hard to use the way I normally use it. It feels like I can fix this by taking the blender apart, but they also covered up the screw holes with little plugs, so I'm going to hot-glue the lock button in place, which I think will be ok, but.

 what a stupid design! It makes the single handed stick blender a two-hand operation, not cool at all.  Some people have found fault with the plastic 'gear' coupling from the top part to the lower part, but I haven't had any problems. I generally use the stick blender to make pizza sauce, so I'm not trying to crunch ice or anything. (that's what I'd use a blender-blender for) YMMV depending on what you're trying to blend

I was replacing a very old stick blender, and trying to get one like I got my parents - this one looked the same, but it has some new 'lock' feature on the very end, which is super obnoxious. In order to use the blender, you have to press down on the lock button at the very end, before (or after) holding down one of the 'on' buttons. The way I use the stick blender is on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off - a lot of on and off. Because this stick blender has a lock button, it makes it pretty hard to use the way I normally use it

 And unless your thumb can bend and flex in odd positions, pressing that button and the slow/fast buttons simulatenously is impossible to do. I have to use my other hand to press the button to turn on the blender. I think that defeats the purpose because I'm holding the beaker with the smoothie ingredients with that hand. Even if I put the beaker on the counter, I have to hold it still when the blender turns on

I bought this hand blender because I have a protein shake every morning with frozen strawberries (acts like ice) and my other one broke. (Kitchen Aid???) I chose Cuisinart for the brand. I knew with its superior cutting/chopping etc compared to other brands, my strawberries would be no problem. And it has proven true

 First off, putting the blade shaft into and taking it out of the motor body requires pressing down a lock release button. For me, this button is very stiff and hard to press in especially while trying to insert the shaft. I suppose with wear it will get easier. However for now, it is a difficult operation to perform
