 And believe it or not, the stores now were halfway through summer and the stores are starting to fill up with school supplies. and I found these at my local Kroger. And check this out. A dollar 19 for this entire package of 24 pencils? Now, how was I not going to get these for a dollar 19? They were on clearance for whatever reason

If you also factor in the price, there are numerous better options for you out there, including those from Staedtler and FC, which happen to be two of the oldest and most respected brands in the pencil world.

I have HB, 2b, 4b and 6b pencils from Faber Castells and Steadtler.

My favorite pencil is HB because of the pressure I use. I feel that cursive letters come out better with a standard HB pencil.

Are the Blackwings similar or are they lighter pencils like a 4b or 6b? That is, the pressure exerted to write the same letter.

 Also you generally only need one. The cheapo ones you get at the dollar store might as well be made of decorative tissue paper.

 Bounty would be perfect but most schools settle for something cheaper. Still, though, you have parents coming in with paper towels that might as well be sheets of writing paper for how well they absorb.

 The led in the middle stays where it should be, they don't canoe in the sharpener, they come pre sharpened, and they don't destroy the sharpener. You ever send your kids to school with those pretty pencils with the plastic outside? Don't, unless you want to go to the store and get the classroom another sharpener.
