 Here you can see, it's got the vents on the both sides, it's got the smoke stack and it's got the temperature gauge built in. So you got some burgers cooking on there already and it's kind of big. So you got plenty of room as you can see. The charcoal sits on its own little crate down in there and it's adjustable height by this little crank, so you can have the charcoal closer to your food or farther away, which is going to be really useful

 I have already modified the damper on the hood to close all the way. Now I have to modify the two side dampers to seal up completely so I can smother the coals a little more to reduce the inside heat. With just a few coals this thing gets around 500 degrees. So it does burn very efficiently

  *Update* So it's been a little while now since I have upgraded the grill. I put a heat resistant seal(for only a few dollars) around the base of the lid and used a lava rock RTV sealant to completely seal off one of the side dampers. Now I can really control the heat. I can keep it as low as 200 degrees, if I want, by closing everything off

This grill is very nice and has some very useful features. The reason I am giving this grill 3 stars, is because it gets very hot, with all dampers in closed position and with the fire set to the lowest position away from the food, it still burns. (4) The tray that is meant to catch the ashes, about 1" deep covering the entire bottom of the grill, fills with water every time it rains (I have not yet tried to rig up a cover for the chimney which does not fully close

 Unlike the Outlaw, there is no tool for doing this. (2) The DG grill surface pieces are coated with an enamel, which is probably fine, but the Outlaws are nice tough heavy duty cast iron, 4 of them, with a tool to easily remove and place them. OK if you make sure to always cover it when it rains....

We purchased the Dyna-Glo Charcoal grill because our previous grill burned a huge hole in the charcoal tray. We host a lot of pool parties and cook out's. Overall the grill looks great but I am worried about the durability to handle our many cook out's. I would recommend wearing gloves to assemble the Casters because a small piece of metal stuck in my finger

Great looking grill but it does have some issues

 I have used charcoal grills before, but this one gets incredibly hot for a short period of time and then dies down very quickly. I have tried infinite numbers of vent and chimney settings with no help. The only solution was to keep a charcoal free area and move the food around on the large grilling area. Smoking was a total bust; due to the gap between the lid and the base, smoke escapes there rather than through the chimney, making it superfluous

This grill is not made of cast iron, only the front door. This grill as sold is not able to control heat. When the charcoal gets going, the grill runs at 500 deg no mater how much you close the vents. The problem is the lid does not seal with the base

 I can now some what control the temperature to a more reasonable 350 to 400. No, lowering the charcoal to the bottom does not cool down this grill. I bought this to replace my 10 year old grill of the same design. That one could put out the charcoal by starving it of oxygen

It's ok (just).

 The higher temps also means that this thing really burns thru charcoal. I've managed to make it work and I've turned my old Weber into a smoker using the Smokenator (which is an awesome product). If I had to do all over again I might try another type just to try a reduce how much charcoal I go thru. OK grill but should cost less than $240

We purchased the Dyna-Glo Charcoal grill because our old Kingsford grill fell apart after 3 years of heavy use. I read many reviews about this product and decided to purchase it. Of course, it was right in the middle of a major snowstorm event, so the shipping was delayed. No problem, completely understandable :)

Did we get a lemon?

 I seem to go through more charcoal with this grill than with other grills I have owned, and it doesn't seem to retain heat as well. The removable ash pan is a bit cumbersome to empty, and doesn't feel very sturdy.  I do like the features of the sliding cooking grates and the crank handle which will raise or lower the coals from the cooking surface. Both are very convenient features
