 So the Free Pro 2 is now slightly more expensive compared to when the original Free Pro was released, coming in at USD 80 or about RM320 where the original was about USD 60 or about RM240. So what are you getting that's justifying that USD 20 price hike? So let's find out. And if you're interested in picking up these earbuds, do check out my links in the description below. So design wise, when I first took the earbuds out of the case, I thought they looked kind of basic, losing that glossy charm of the original Free Pro

 And at the front here, you're going to get an LED, so just one tiny LED in front here which lights up when you plug in the Type-C charging port at the back. So the LED here is also very simple to tell, if the LED doesn't blink, so if it lights up white and it doesn't blink, meaning that you have more than 30% battery life, and if it starts to blink three times, it just drops below 30% battery, and if it only blinks one time, means that it has less than 10%. And if there's no LED indication at all, means that it's time to charge up the battery. So maybe I'm old school, but I still think three or four LEDs would be the best way to tell battery life

 So the lid that we have here is also really unique and when you open them, it doesn't feel like there's anything holding it up, very smooth, but when you do open them, they have this very subtle friction that you can see it holds itself in any angle, which is super cool. So overall, you can see that the Earphone Free Pro 2 is very simple, not much of design going on. And for me to get the best ANC seal, I've changed to the largest ear tips here and you can see it's quite large, but I don't normally use large ear tips and it does put some pressure to my right side ear. And do remember that all ear canals, even your left and right, sometimes don't come in the same size, so you do have to experiment to get the best fit

I found the voice-calling performance good but not great. They did an acceptable job reducing background noise and picking up my voice in noisy environments but they aren't top-notch in this department.  Battery life is rated at up to 6 hours, they're IPX5 splash-proof, and their elongated case is compact and better designed than the Free Pro's case (this model also has wireless charging). As I said, the little fin helps keep them in your ears and they make for decent sports earbuds and sit fairly flush against your ear -- they don't stick out much) -- which helps cut down on wind noise

They don't have such extra features as an ear-detection sensor so your music automatically pauses when you take one or both buds out of your ears or an app that allows you to update their firmware. But they're lightweight, should fit most ears well and have decent noise canceling along with a transparency mode (it's not as good as the AirPods Pro's transparency mode, which is hard to beat)

 Battery life is amazing when in normal mode, but greatly reduced when using and of the other modes. Charging can be wonky, as you have to make sure it’s really charging, as I have felt it magnetize and click in place, only to find out it wasn’t actually charging.  Now, for the biggest problem, the controls. They are a bit frustrating

My favorite is Ambient mode, as I like to hear the things going on around me, but it could still be a lot better, because as you increase the volume on your earphones, the music completely drowns out the sound and makes that function utterly useless. First off, I want to start with the good:  I’m not an audiophile but the sound quality is amazing! Very clear sound with great bass. If you usually like Beats headphones, then the bass is going to be underwhelming for you; but if your like me who absolutely hates Beats cause their bass is so overwhelming it muddies everything else, then you’ll love these headphones.  I have small ears so earbuds tend to fall out really easy, but these hold really well with some caveats. The rubber piece does hurt after wearing it for a couple hours and it warped/moves around the earpiece after using it so much

Frustrating controls; stopped working after 5 months.

Earfun Free Pro 2 - pretty good sound quality, even though I think the Fiil beat it slightly, but these are TINY, and really comfortable, and the case is even smaller than the Fiil case, and feels much sturdier than the slightly too plasticky feeling Fiil case. The game changer here are the features. Passthrough and noise canceling work pretty well.

A quick comparison of some budget true wireless earbuds

 I use either ANC mode which does a nice job of removing background noise like fans and such. ANC mode also seems to enhance the bass and general audio for some reason. Other times, I like to hear the ambient noise around me so I use that mode as well. Of course, the sacrifice is shortened battery time per charge

 I didn't know it was there until you get decent enough headphones or speakers to test. On speakers that aren't great, it sounds like silence. This Free Pro 2 sets picks it up pretty nicely. I found out I don't really like using "normal" mode

These are my current fav earbuds with some required minor yet necessary improvements.  First, for me, these are pretty much the perfect sized earbuds that fit in your ear and won't fall out. They are pretty comfortable for the most part. In general, no one's ears are exactly the same (left and right)

My old bose soundsport frees are completely broken (case split in half, buttons falling out, fit nowhere near what it used to be). So, I've been looking for new running earbuds. 

So far, I've tried the Jabra Elite Active 75t, Bose Sport, and Ultimate Ears Fits. I must have weird ears because the first two had a genuinely painful fit, which is what led me to the UE Fits. While those fit, they had absolutely abysmal sound quality - they sound worse than $2 walmart earbuds I've tried in the past.

Anyone have any recommendations?
