All told, we really like the Elgato Stream Deck. It is expensive, which is a big factor in the disclaimer laid out up front. If you're not a semi-serious or consistent streamer, it's hard to really justify. If it were less expensive, it could be a useful enough tool and a good gag accessory

 There are a host of options for game footage capture specifically, including Elgato's Game Capture software. I don't have a capture card on my home test PC, so I was unable to try this out, but if you have a card such as Elgato's own Game Capture HD60 S, the important takeaway is that it's quite easy to understand and almost as simple to use.

 If you're in the middle of a game, it keeps you focused on the action more, and this ease of use applies to virtually every action. It's much quicker to hit a dedicated clip footage button than to use the Twitch interface, for example.

It may surprise you, but I am not, in fact, a full-time professional streamer. I tested the main streaming features to see how seamless it is to use, and how well integrated the Stream Deck can be in your setup. Seeing as how this isn't my main use case, though, I also tried to fit the Stream Deck into my usual activities, both gaming and otherwise. I'm happy to say I found it genuinely useful for other tasks, though I wouldn't suggest buying the Stream Deck without planning on streaming

 The software is what really sells this. It'S user intuitive tons of plugins and there's like a little marketplace of where you can get all the free plugins for this thing and it's super easy to use. That is why i love this product and why i think you might as well, if you've never messed with it.  The fact that it's a button that you push in and you can tell whenever you've, made contact with something that you're messing with that's a positive. It'S the software. We have um the amount of videos we posted and there's actually quite a few different other statistics and things that you can add in there that just calls through some kind of api and all of these plugins that i've messed with so far um actually have detailed Documentation on how to set them up through either their github or wiki or whatever they use to kind of explain that. So, let's go back to my first one and just kind of dive through some of these different menus to showcase to you, the usefulness of how cool this stuff is. So i want to actually showcase discord first, because um, so i want to go ahead and showcase discord first, because i utilize discord for a lot of things and these buttons right here save me so much time from having to toggle out or use different hotkeys

 It's cleaner than some hacked together solution and easier than remembering complicated key combos.

High price for an ok device

 Definitely one of my favorite products of 2017. And it's something that I always like wanted but never knew was going to come to the market. And then once I got it, I was like, oh, my God, this makes everything so much easier. Nice low profile right next to my keyboard

 But do you have the time? Why would you want to do that? It's just very simple here. You don't have to cut out pieces of paper and tape it on the key cap so you know what you're pressing. It's just so easy. I think the 150 is well justified

 It falls in line with a lot of the other Elgato products out there, like their capture cards. I think the price here is just very, very perfect for it. And people who are complaining about it, well, they don't have to buy it. But people who are hardcore streamers or who do it very often and gamers or photo and video editors who see the capabilities of this and the potential I think can highly justify that price point

 It's just so easy. I think the 150 is well justified. It falls in line with a lot of the other Elgato products out there, like their capture cards. I think the price here is just very, very perfect for it
