I think this is just a/\s/ beautiful guitar in the hand and having owned a/\s/gibson Custom Shop vos 56 Les Paul, there's not/\s/ a lot of difference in it when it comes to feel/\s/now that might be debatable, but you're spending/\s/ like four or five thousand dollars more on the/\s/gibson Custom Shop as you would on one of these/\s/ epiphones and the Epiphone played itself. it's/\s/got a nice big fat 50s chunky neck that feels so/\s/ good to play the pickups in this guitar sing they/\s/got all the top end in the world

 Now This particular guitar has the/\s/ pro bucket pickups, which I think are some of the/\s/nicest sounding pickups that Epiphone have made/\s/ Interestingly enough, I went from playing my Gibson/\s/flying V over to the Epiphone in the session/\s/ that's probably playing on screen right here and/\s/i got to tell you the epiphone really held its own/\s/ and the burst bucket pickups in my Flying V sound/\s/fantastic So in terms of feel and tone and value/\s/ this definitely gets the big thumbs up. And/\s/i'm gonna put it as the first guitar on this/\s/ particular list. The second guitar on the list/\s/is the Epiphone Les Paul Special in Tv yellow/\s/ So if you don't know, I actually own a Gibson/\s/les Paul special in Tv yellow and after picking/\s/ up the epiphone and checking it out, it was so/\s/similar It's got the nice big fat chunky neck/\s/ and it's rocking two awesome sounding P90 pickups/\s/so if you're looking for something a little bit/\s/ different to your standard Les Paul, then this/\s/would be a great choice.  After adjusting the pickups screws to match the string height and getting all the horrible wax off them, I'd argue that this is as good as any Epi I've ever played as far as pups and all, so don't hesitate there because I don't really care for Epis and I'm in love with it. (I bought this to sell mainly, but now????) The build quality; hmm, if you can do guitar work go for it. Otherwise I'd highly recommend a more expensive model. The $299 models are great right out of the box usually

 The neck angle was so off the A string rattled no matter how high I set the bridge. The guitar would not intonate due to the ridiculous angle. Yes I could have sent it back but I suspect I would have gotten another just like it. I had to spend about 6 hours shimming the neck AND the nut (Never had to do this to the nut on an electric, not even on a used guitar

 I play through a Peavey Valveking 100 and it rocks as good as my Strat w/ Duncans and Dimarzios. The quality of the electronics is not sub par at all. Unboxing Epiphone's CHEAPEST Les Paul! - How Good Is It?

Bearing in mind my first and only guitar is second hand Ibanez Gio which I bought for about $70... Am I asking for too much in an upgrade to a $650 Ibanez Prestige model (RG1570)?

I definitely won't be disappointed by the quality of an Indonesian model (it'll probably blow me away in comparison to my current guitar) and I can't exactly comfortably afford a Prestige model.

Should I just go out tomorrow and buy an Indonesian model or continue to bust my ass saving?

  This is a fully-functioning guitar and not a game controller. Rocksmith 2014 is not at all like Guitar Hero, wherein the latter uses a special guitar-shaped game controller. The beauty of Rocksmith 2014 is that the game is actually made to work with an actual electric guitar. The secret is the cable

 But, I would not recommend a cheaper model for a new learner. Someone new to guitars will naturally make mistakes in the handling of the instruments, string tension, and adjustments. For someone just learning, they need a sturdy guitar that can tolerate a little bit of less-than delicate handling. Especially if the learner is a less-than careful youngster

 The cable plugs into where you would normally insert an amp cable. The other end of the cable is a usb that plugs into the front ports of your Playstation 4.  The build quality of this guitar is more than good enough for you to learn on. If you are thinking of playing Rocksmith 2014 and you do not already own an electric guitar, then this one is worthy of your consideration

Fine choice for THIS newbie.

 My feeling about Epiphone is if you're buying a guitar under 200, Uh, I wouldn't buy an Epiphone. I would actually buy a squier. When you get into the price point of these guys the five, six, seven, eight hundred dollar range, you know the sky's the limit about whether or not you choose a player Stratocaster Telecaster or an Epiphone Les Paul, You're really going to get a great instrument in that price. [Music] So let's go over some of the specs of this guitar

 As far as specs on the Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s, we have that traditional classic Les Paul body shape. It's a mahogany body with a double a flame maple top. They use cream binding on that. The neck is made out of mahogany

 This one, you don't have that problem. I'm sold. I'm a believer in the new Epiphone stuff over. let's call it over four hundred dollars because that's where you can kind of get the Les Paul special, the the Tv yellow one with binding which is a pretty cool guitar
