 When you take the strings off which is really nice, it just is a little bit more tuning stability and the tailpiece is just, as I mentioned, just fixed in place. Guitar sounds great, plays really fast and as you can see, nice good view of the gold hardware there and the upper fret axis is not as good as more of a traditional shred, you know, super-strat style guitar but it is pretty good. I mean, it's good enough I'd say and I really like the split coil feature. I really love single coil tones just like Yngwie but you can see the back, you know, you can see the contours of the body, the upper fret axis and that smooth neck

So basically, apparently what you do is you just twist these knobs and it will lock or unlock the strings so when you want to change the strings, apparently this is just another way to add tuning stability and makes the string changes really easy so apparently you don't even have to wind up the strings very much

 I still need to get used to the action and set it up a bit better. The clean parts have some weird feedback. I think probably due to the fact that I need to mute the strings behind the headstock past the nut but other than that, you know, here it is. I'm using EZ Mix Mark Lewis Expansion Pack and I'll show you what settings I use in each part and what pickup configuration but enough talking

ESP LTD EC 1000 Duncan Review

I went to Sam Ash after calling to know if they have any ESP LTD's in stock. When I went, I was given the 2 LTDs I was looking for (EC-256 and EC-1000), and demo'd both of them. They sounded pretty good so I was happy with it.

needs some work to be functioning properly. i sometimes have to shake the jack as the sound fades out. and i have to shake the toggle switch when i switch it to the bridge pick up, but once it works it sounds great.

but once it works it sounds great.

 We have off the 12th fret on the low E string. We have it sitting at one and a half millimeters off the 12th fret, on the high, on the low E, on the high E, we have it sitting at exactly one and a half millimeters, which is as you know where I like it. For reference, I always like to measure the third fret just to see and this one's sitting at 0.75 on the low E and of course 0

This Guitar Puts $3000 Guitars To Shame!

Hello everyone

I went to Sam Ash after calling to know if they have any ESP LTD's in stock. When I went, I was given the 2 LTDs I was looking for (EC-256 and EC-1000), and demo'd both of them. They sounded pretty good so I was happy with it. I later found out there was chipping on the body of the used ec-1000 and rust or stripped "silver" on the pickup screws and the poles. The neck is also bowed quite a bit.

After about like 2 hours in the store trying to decide on what to get after he showed me even more, I caved for the cosmetically damaged LTD EC-1000. I haggled down the price to 500$ and bought it.

When I got home, I looked it up online as my phone had been dead while I was there and found out that supposedly the pickups were changed? Instead of EMG pickups, it has Seymour Duncan.

I then noticed there was a second model for the LTD EC-1000, but that model has Duncan 59/JB's that have nickel plating. I don't know if the one that I have is the uncovered version of the 59/JB or if it's a totally different model of pickups.

I'm wondering if it's worth keeping this, or if I should return it before 30 days. I do like playing metal, but I also like the versality of multiple genres. Cosmetic damage doesn't seem too impactful, but idk if I'd be able to get a better deal somewhere else.

Followup: So it&#39;s been around 10 months and I&#39;m loving the guitar and definitely have no regrets. Thanks to everyone who helped out!

is good guitar, not as new

 You have three controls here right? control volume and a knob and a push pull control right? So these are our split call so you can have split call for these two humbuckers. Now the finish is the one that is really eye-catching Okay, so um, it's nice. This is the blue natural fade right? I like it. Yeah, cool

 but I find that these pickups are okay, um, parameters that you know. This is all very comfortable. I'm very uh familiar, right? You can set up the red familiar to the to the less pokemon setup. Yep, so let me know what you think about this guitar

 Now it has the Tom Pros lock-in tuners as well as the Tom Pros bridge all right, all in black heavy metal. Has a molded nut all right and a three-way selector. You have uh, a pair of symbol Duncan pickups. Here, these are the sentience

 I'm gonna put the weight down here. All right. The weight is about uh, 3.6 kg and I'm going to put the price down here

LTD EC1000

 (Just remember, if the guitar was stock with active pickups, and you want to swap for passives, it will need a bridge ground drilled to get everything from those pickups). My EC-1000 has the humbucker tone I love, with the playability of a metal guitar, and frankly I have a hard time playing anything else.

I recently traded a les paul studio away, I couldn't stand playing it. It felt too chunky, heavy, etc. Something just didn't feel right. However - I didn't hate the way it sounded.

I'm on the search for another humbucker equipped guitar. It doesn't need to be super versatile, I just need it to do rock/metal. I'll probably try to get something used, so my budget would be around 5-600. Does anybody have suggestions for me?

[QUESTION] Alternative to Les Paul for my next guitar - need suggestions

 It's like a soft gloss that is hard to mark with oily fingers and makes moving up and down the fretboard very enjoyable. This guitar stays in tune very well also and the original reason I bought this guitar was to go into alternate tunings freely since all I had was a floyd rose before. No fret buzz either. The strings are quite low and size 12's so I am thoroughly pleased in all technical aspects of the guitar

Ok, so first the good.  This is a great guitar. I've owned it for about 2 years. The nut width is the same as my Ibanez acoustic so switching back and forth is pretty easy without the little hick-ups that usually occur from getting too used to an instrument

 Just more cookie cutterish. Perhaps it is the amp but since both guitars I am comparing were played with the same settings (and experimental settings) on the same amp (Peavey VK 212) I am convinced otherwise. Still though, I have heard a lot worse and it will do anything you want it to, just not the very best. One other minor gripe is the weight

. I am not a big fan apparently. These are my first active pickups and I was a little disappointed in the tone. I am currently waiting for funds to buy some passives and put them in since an old 300$ Ibanez RG I had had a deeper more meaningful tone for metal
