Willing to spend some money but all for saving some as well. I will be using it daily to cook outside work on my lunch break but would also like to take it camping on the weekends. I use cast iron almost exclusively. I would like to be able to use a wok even though I never have before. A single burner is fine, thanks!

ISO Portable Stove

  The size is fairly normal but the burners are so close to the sides of the stove I couldn't use larger pans.

  The burners are basically full blast or just under.  No simmer control at all.  The size is fairly normal but the burners are so close to the sides of the stove I couldn't use larger pans.

It's really sad that after such a long time, thoughtful stove design has fallen to the wayside.  The features I mention are simple things that should have been thought of initially and can be easily added to a new design.

Over the past few years I've used the ever-trusted green Coleman classic double burner propane stove. While it's been serviceable over the dozens of trips we used it, I have a want for something with a more controlled, larger burner. The Coleman classic is fantastic at boiling a pot of water and heating something in a smaller pan, but the heat is a little too close and a little centered to use a larger pan or a griddle. I'd like to stick with propane but am open to other fuels. Would also prefer something that can be used without a dedicated stand. 

Anyone love cooking and find something they really like to cook on please let me know!

Just what the title says. I need to find something to replace the shitty old coleman dual burner I have been using. Low heat performance is just unacceptably bad (completely nonexistent) on these these things, and it is time to do something about it.

Still going to be using propane, and not interested in the campchef everest monstrosities that are even larger than the coleman dual burners. 

Has anyone found anything worth recommending?

Looking for dual burner camp stove recommendations that work well on low settings.

Stove arrived bent, will not sit flat, not usable for cooking.

 You need heavy cast iron and move the pans around to regulate temperature. This stove is not an improvement to anything. I'm really suspicious of the reviews that say different.

 It goes from high to nothing. No matter how you try to just barely turn the knob, just shuts off. So, it's great for boiling things, but getting a lower flame to do some real cooking--NOPE. Any decent cook knows flame control is the key
