I recommend spending most your budget on a good grinder first, then upgrading your espresso set up either with a non pressurised basket or with a new machine completely depending on budgets. I can't speak for the Graef personally but it you can it might be worth saving up more for a higher end espresso grinder like the Eureka Mignon, which has a good range of grinds for espresso and reputation. That way it'll future proof any upgrades to your espresso machine. Other option would be to get an espresso focussed hand grinder but electric is worth the extra for less effort in the mornings!.

The Eureka Mignon looks better, and is definitely built better (more reliable), but in my experience (Sette for 3 years, factory refurbished once with completely shredded gearbox, Mignon Specialita for 1 year) the grind is not nearly as good or consistent as my Sette. It’s quite frustrating, but the Mignon is my main grinder and it basically works... The dose from the Mignon requires stirring and side tapping to avoid channeling, and just generally needs to be babied a little bit more to get a consistent pour (Profitec Pro 500).

Well, someone gifted me a baratza encore after three years, but still… I waited until I paid off my student loans and then bought my Profitec pro 800 and eureka mignon. I’m a web designer making average money, but like others said, a serious hobby is worth the investment.
