 Hey everyone, in this video I'm going to be demoing the Evans G2 Coated Bass Drum Head. Now this is a 2-ply head and each ply is 7 mils thick. So if you're playing the G1 Coated, which is a 1-ply 10 mil thick head, but you want maybe a little bit more control of the sustain and the overall resonance, then you can consider trying out the G2 Coated. There's no external or internal muffling, other than the Drumeo Hoodie that we have on the inside

 So it's a very open sounding drumhead still, it's very, very resonant, it's something that you could tune high and you could tune low and really kind of adjust the sound of it just by adding muffling and playing with the different types of tunings. And so I like the drumhead, although my preference is more of an EMAD Coated, just because I find I like something with less sustain and more control but lots of punch. But this is a great sounding head and I can see myself using this for very specific styles of music. So if I was going to play jazz, if I was going to play funk and want something a little bit more particular, then I would check out something like this

Evans hybrid coated. You play grindcore, so you're probably cranking the shit out of it, and it lasts a really long time.

I play drums in a grindcore band, I hit very hard. I need a heavy duty snare head that can withstand a hard hit but I also like my tone to be light and pingy, almost high pitched. Is this possible? I like a single ply

It'll sound great if it's tuned well with decent heads. Can't go wrong with Evans or Remo. Evans coated G2 is what I have on my toms, with an Emad with the big ring on the bass drum

Amazing deal. As another person said, New Beats really are the quintessential archetype of a hi-hat. Those Evans G2 heads are also pro level and when tuned up nicely will give your drums a great fat warm sound.

this drum skin is not too expensive and its quality. can take a massive pounding and stays well tightened. you can get a good sound by tuning it tight or looser depending on what you like. It is lasting me well unlike the slightly cheaper brands

Started playing around 9-10 years old and played all the way through college. Life happened, wife, house, kids etc and haven't picked up sticks in over 15 years. After years of procrastination I have decided I need to start playing again and possibly get my kids into drumming as well. No idea what my skill level is now but I wanted to restore my kit with new heads, cymbals and some hardware. The drumming world is so different now I have no idea where to start. I have a terrible set of Sabian B8pros which I remember hating even back in the 90s. I really want to upgrade to some 'decent' cymbals and new heads. I hope this sub will have me! Now that I am older(40) I have some money to work with. Where do I start?

Looking to get back into drumming after 15+ year gap

If you are looking to upgrade your cheap kit Evans will make a huge difference in the way you mediocre drum set will sound. I replaced all the heads on my kit and what a difference!

Evans G2 Coated. They sound great. I’m the third generation of drummer in my family and we’ve always used Evans G2 Coated.

I have the AQ2 maple shell sonor kit. It still has the heads that came with it. I think it's time for replacements.
I was looking at getting the black onyx evans heads.
Has anyone used these? If so how is the sound?
And or do you have any recommendations?
