 but I'm not gonna be playing in Ultra today because this is the American original 60s model and I chose it because it's pretty much the classic setup for what the Jazz Master built its foundation on. You got to jazz master pickups in the center. These are not 2p 90s. They are single coils designed specifically for the Jazz Master just a little bit wider, more mellow pickups

 This tone and this volume and this toggle switch I have nothing to do with it. So you're working specifically with this neck pickup. but I think you'll hear it's a it's a much more rhythm based, kind of dark in tone and these two rollers right here become your volume and your tone control respectively. So for this, you can do a lot of very pretty balanced cord stuff, or you can kind of mess with that tone and get some funkier tone rolled off leads going

 One of my favorite players of all time. Nels Cline In Wilco plays this guitar all over. He uses it very famously on the solo for Impossible' Germany which just has one of the coolest stones I've ever heard in my life. but you know you can hear those kind of rounded, warm mellow tones that you might associate with a jazz player

Beautiful guitar, don’t get me wrong, however, I’m giving this 3 stars for the horrendous set up it came with. Intonation was wack, truss rod was wack, saddles were wack, a string actually unwound from the bridge when I used the whammy bar. The fret ends were also very sharp. My verdict is that if you’re a little hands on and know how to fix these minor issues it’s a good buy, but for beginners or ones that are scared to work on a guitar you’ll have to pay for a professional setup which can range from 50-100$ so you make the call if you wanna spend the money

So, I was on the Fender website, and there's this "Find my Fender" page, where you can find the Fender guitar for you. I played around, seeing what guitars it recommended for just about every combination of genre, price and tone. Nowhere, could I find a Mustang. As a diehard Mustang fan, I had no idea why Fender wouldn't advertise the guitar of choice of Kurt freaking Cobain. A while later, I looked at the custom mod shop. Lo and behold, no option for a custom Mustang. Why is Fender ignoring the Mustang (and Jaguar, to a lesser extent,) instead picking the Strat and Tele as their favorite children?

[QUESTION] Why does Fender hate Mustangs?

I sent it directly to my guitar tech...

 But it was my review yesterday of the Parallel Universe Jazz Tele that really inspired me to go for this one today. It also kind of gave me a slight frame of reference to know what to expect and made me realize just how high-tech this thing really is. So first off, unlike all the other Ultra series guitars, the Jazz Master body shape is actually brand new to the high-end lineup offender. It had no Elite counterpart to replace because it just didn't exist in that lineup

 so everything looks good here. If you order one of these brand new, you get a nice deluxe hardshell case. It's got the TSA styled latches you get three of them, one of them locks, and a nice handle and the interior is just a nice little grey color. And you get a plethora of case candy here

 So what makes this Jazz Master so special in high-tech as compared to a vintage one? Well, first off, we have the next generation of noiseless pickups. but at the same time, it's the first generation of Jazz Master noiseless pickups. This is the first time Fender has ever done noiseless jazz masters and I didn't realize that when I bought this. So this is a first-time experience for everybody, including Fender

Ideally I wanted to buy a Fender Vintera Jazzmaster, but they are damn expensive and really hard to find where I live. Practically no second hand ones available. The new one costs about $1160 on Thomann.

My second option is Squier Classic Vibe, which is much cheaper ($471), but I don't want to comromise on quality too much. And I'm not gonna lie, it would be nice to have my first actual Fender instrument after 10 years of playing guitar.

The third option is Fender Player Jazzmaster ($722). The price and availability is alright, but it's not designed to mimic vintage guitars.  Ironically, the dealer claimed to have had their luthier go through the guitar prior to shipping. Who is this guy, Stevie Wonder? Anyway, it sounds and looks great now.

 Fret buzz galore, action too low and irregular, etc, and required a pro set up. I'm glad I bought this from a dealer at a less than MSRP and sans tax which more than made up for the cost of making it right. Wasn't Jazzed!

 Some did, but it wasn't You know, certainly didn't you. This sort of mass exodus from traditional, you know, jazz guitars, but it became very popular with other players. You know, the the Surf scene. Think of bands like The Ventures and you know, over history lots of different players have adopted the Jazz masters and I and I suppose probably in the last 20 or 30 years it's tended to be players that just don't want to be like seen as the norm

 I'm not gonna lie. [Music] you [Music] It's odd as well because one of the things they did with the S1 S1 switching between the previous Elite series and the Ultra series. Yeah, on the Strats and the Talese was they simplified S1 because it was almost like before. It's not too confusing

 You know, the the Surf scene. Think of bands like The Ventures and you know, over history lots of different players have adopted the Jazz masters and I and I suppose probably in the last 20 or 30 years it's tended to be players that just don't want to be like seen as the norm. Maybe you know, like it? just [Music] you [Music] to reducing little too much, you think something like that, you'd need to own it and find all the good tones. It's not really a two minute demo guitar. well it's not really a two minute demo guitar. it's a beautiful guitar I think it looks wicked
