The Fender Rumble 40, coming in at $200, is a nice middle-of-the-road entry combo amp that is lightweight and has some nice features that aren't available in cheaper models.

I haven't even bought a bass yet but I've been doing as much research as possible and wanted one since I was a kid. I'm a broke high school student, not entirely looking for the best of the best, just something to get the feel of the instrument. What's a reliable amp brand on the cheaper side?

I was a little disappointed by the sound of this amp. To my ears, it's not as punchy (or tight) as I would like. It has a bit of mud and hollowness that I don't typically like to hear. However, the price is outstanding, and I have no problem at all carrying it around

 I've been able to dial in a bit better tone by putting an eq/booster pedal in front of it. If the tone sounded more like the traditional Fender sound (like an old Bassman), I'd give it 5 stars. But unfortunately, it just sounds like a generic bass combo.

 If you see them used on Craigslist, it's worth picking them up, because I paid $100 for this one used, and it's worked great ever since. They look great, they've got that silver sparkle grill cloth and the iconic vintage Fender logo on the front, and even if it breaks down eventually, it still can make a nice speaker cabinet for bass, or guitar I guess. So I think that's about all I have to say about this amp, there'll be a lot of other videos online going through all the tone controls up top, it has a good control over your tone, it has four tone controls, the low, low-mid, high-mid, and a high, and then some buttons for vintage tone and like a scoop, scoop-de-queue, so it's a very versatile amp. It's amazing how cheap they can make them these days, and I highly recommend getting the Fender Rumble 40

 It has a really decent tone. It's also a versatile amp. I first got introduced to these rumble bass amps several years ago. I mainly play guitar, play some bass, but I had a jazz gig coming up at the New Orleans airport, and I needed to find a nice cheap amp with a good full clean tone for guitar, and I went out to Guitar Center with my semi-hollow body and plugged it into about 10 or 15 guitar amps

 You can hop on a train or a bus with this thing very easily, and it actually makes a really nice seat if there's no seats around on the bus. You can just turn it on its side and sit down, and you brought your own comfortable chair. But besides that, it's only about $200 brand new, and it's really sufficiently loud for most gigs. If you're playing like jazz and blues or country in small to medium sized venues, if the band's not too loud, it's got enough volume to keep up with everybody, and it has a nice full rich tone, which a lot of smaller amps don't have, a tone that you'd want to even be heard with

 But besides that, it's only about $200 brand new, and it's really sufficiently loud for most gigs. If you're playing like jazz and blues or country in small to medium sized venues, if the band's not too loud, it's got enough volume to keep up with everybody, and it has a nice full rich tone, which a lot of smaller amps don't have, a tone that you'd want to even be heard with. So I highly recommend it, and even if it's not loud enough for the gig you're on, a lot of guys utilize the XLR jack on the back, and plug right into the PA from here, and then use this amp as their stage monitor. I know a few people that do that around New Orleans, and it works out great for them

I bought a Beginner Mitchell Bass and this Fender Amp for My GrandDaughter (age 10) right after she told Me she wants to learn to play the Bass Guitar.  Here's a cool example of just laying down a groove with the looper pedal and just kind of playing over it and having fun.  These effects make it super easy to craft whatever it is that's inside your head. One thing that I'd like to add is that when I first got this amp, I noticed that just by having all those cool features, you dive in and as you're playing, you're getting inspired by all these tones that are coming at you and before you know it, two to three hours go by and you just spent like a cool session of practice and you didn't even know it. I'll show you guys two of my favorite amp models. One particular favorite of mine is the Bassman 300 which is what I normally play on stage and I've been playing it for a while now

I'm an absolute beginner, plunked around on a couple of basses and I've really enjoyed it, but I want to seriously get into it. I'm looking into getting a Squier, since I've heard it's a good starter and a lot of people have suggested it. I'm going into Guitar Center later this week, and as a young woman who is pretty inexperienced, I'm really nervous, because I know how a lot of more experienced female musicians are treated there. I've done a lot of research and I hear a lot of different things, so my first question is, what kind of amp is your favorite for beginners? And second of all, mostly for women musicians, do you have any advice for what I should/should not do as a new, young player? Thank you so much!

 So there's a 112, you get 210, 115, 410 if you really want to stack them high. There's lots of options then. Absolutely. And they do head versions as well of the 200 and 500 watt

 So yeah you're getting sort of 40 or 50 quid's worth of free pedal with that as well. So yeah see what you think. We'll put maybe these four up first. We'll have a little test of maybe some of the ones that will work well just particularly with bass and we'll throw them up there as well if we think they're suitable
