 This would have been about 1997. Something like that, And um, there it was. really. There were thousands of guitars around, of course, but this, uh, this Srv Strat was there with its sunburst body with a black scratch plate, which was unusual for that combination

 Of course, the gold hardware and signature and initials emblazoned on the scratch plate tinted neck. It just looked like something out of another world. Really, it was quite garish, but at the same time really quite enticing and I kind of fell in love with it there. and then really

 I did. I have kicked that quite a bit to be fair and and it's a great guitar. I love it to bits and it's in really good condition, but I ended up gravitating towards the middle one, which was my 98, which as I say, sounds fantastic and I've gigged there a couple of hundred times now. And anyway, so I've ended up with three guitars um, my original 92, my 98, and a 2008

 So that was a bit pointless, and I kind of sat on the guitar for a while, started playing it, and actually it became one of my favorite guitars to play live. So I detuned it by half a step, restrung it with elevens, and it plays absolutely beautifully. Like that, it sounds, the business plays amazingly and I love it to bits. [Music] So I ended up with a guitar that was more of a collectible guitar because it was one of the very first ones, even though it had a dodgy pickup to another one which played amazingly well and sounded great, but didn't have the original pickups in it

Why have 3 SRV Strats? Player & collector comments.  Fender Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster

At first I was extremely excited when the guitar arrived, however after I took it out of the box that soon changed. My first reaction after I tuned the instrument was one of disappointment when I noticed how high the action was. When I plugged it in to my (Marshall) amp, compared it to my $ 500.00 MIM Stratocaster and could not hear or feel a clear $ 1

 I noticed the neck had quite a bow in it causing the high action, so I removed it from the body and found the truss rod nut to be quite loose, so I tightened it, reinstalled the neck, tuned the guitar and found the action to be much more to my liking, after which I adjusted the saddles for a finer adjustment, pick ups and cut a piece off of the tremolo arm threads so it also will be more to my "personal specks". I am much happier with my Stevie Ray Vaughan Signature model and I am going to keep it!! The moral of the story is that when buying a guitar like this online, be prepared to either do a complete set up yourself, or spend couple of extra $$$ to have somebody do it for you if you are not comfortable doing it yourself!!

So let's start with those papers as always trying to send you thousand of papers so it's a lifetime warranty self and the stickers and say thank you for the purchase entered guitar. Also we have that little tag it says the serial number of the guitar and says why it was a sandwich. say that it passed all the tests was expected so that's it

 So so it's a pretty pretty basic stack against is you can find it the website. so I don't see the reason to tell you that is a rosewood fingerboard is elder body so you if you need to just go on the website and the tell exactly what it is. So over here we have received vintage style tuners is a nice coke gold neck right? Alright so is it so let's logging in and check it out. How is the sound? Okay guys so I applied the guitar I came it up and I mentioned before about this drink

 The neck. For me, it's definitely another C shape as on most of American Standard on American deluxe guitars it's the neck is more kind of form. it's kind of you say clue for me it's it's a little bit bigger but I'm pretty sure its effect the tones that bigger the neck that that the bigger the sound. so models note the rest is actually nothing to talk about which is regular style

 You know if that's true I can kind of see why and I Think mainly it's because of the Pitt goes because I cannot stress this enough. These pickups I don't know what they did to it, but it just sounds very very very good tone. Dude tone I give this like a 9 out of 10. 10 out of 10 around that range

 maybe even it's like 60 and I couldn't even bend it I know that? um you know if you do like the research on you know the strain gauges that guitarists play I know that Stevie Ray Vaughn used really heavy gauge strings I'm not sure if this is correct but his low E was like either there teen or 14 which is incredibly thick I've read stories where the hands the skin on his hands would bleed because you know when he was playing the guitar and like bending and doing them all as a stuff like since the gauge of the strings were just so thick like the steel was just cutting through his fingers I was like dude, why would you do that man like that sounds painful. Maybe that that's the trade-off of the tone he got because his tone is pretty unique but I put on lighter gauge strings you know I used to play with 11s that I I lowered it to tens because I feel like bending is much easier with tens and I'm using a lot less pick and I'm using a lot more of my fingers and with lighter gauge strings, you can control the the tone of the strings better in my opinion. I really didn't know what to expect and you know I put on lighter gauge strings and I've played it on an amp. Dude, dude, this guitar sounds good I don't know if it's because of just the guitar itself or these pickups I'm not really I'm not really too knowledgeable about pickups I don't swap out pickups or anything I always use use the original pickups on every guitar I buy but I believe these are like Texas specials or the Texas customs from Texas something's dude this these Texas pickups or whatever

 Very well built, not too heavy. this is actually on the lighter side I'd say like six seven pounds. The build quality is just like a regular Strat, but the these pickups like the sound of this guitar is just that's where the difference is made. I'm not sure if this is true, but I think that the SRV model is one of the most best-selling Fender Signature Strats ever

 Even with jumbo frets (which I have on a few other Guitars) I would call these medium frets and 10's feel and sound great!! I play 12's on my other jumbo fretted guitars. if you have love of BLUES guitar I would say this is a no brainer.  Hope this helps!

I have shopping for a Fender for a few years now. Playing the Fenders in Guitar shops, I found the neck hard to play (Because I have bigger palms and fatter fingers then some of my other friends that play Fenders) But right out of the "BOX" this Guitar isn't only a work of art but it plays so easy and sounds the way I want a classic Fender to sound with a little SRV flare! (The Bridge Pick-up is hot!!!) The larger neck has a great feel (It's more of a "D" shaped neck). Even with jumbo frets (which I have on a few other Guitars) I would call these medium frets and 10's feel and sound great!! I play 12's on my other jumbo fretted guitars. if you have love of BLUES guitar I would say this is a no brainer

 For a strat, it's a little bit bigger than the modern C profile that you'd find typically these days. One of the next thing is this is going to jump off at you is the 60 105 Dunlop frets. You're a narrow jumbo fret and there's gold hardware all over the place. left-handed tremolo unit

 The maple neck has got a thick oval profile and a pal Ferro fretboard with inlays. The the next shape is definitely beefier than you know what you would typically pick up off the rack at your local store. For a strat, it's a little bit bigger than the modern C profile that you'd find typically these days. One of the next thing is this is going to jump off at you is the 60 105 Dunlop frets

 You're a narrow jumbo fret and there's gold hardware all over the place. left-handed tremolo unit. So just like Stevie Ray Vaughan's guitar, we can get into your uh, you know your Lenny sound you. Another really great feature about this guitar that obviously really contributes to the sound is the Texas special pickups

SCREAMIN BLUES

I just recently bought this SRV Stratocaster. It is a fantastic guitar; sound great, works great. It comes with a really cool retro case, plus they even give you a cable & extra springs. Be careful in that the tension spring for the tremolo bar pops right out from the hole very easily (I already lost mine & had to re-order some)
