FIIO BTR3 Bluetooth Headphone Amplifier - Reviewed!

Dacs I have Sonata HD 2, Fiio btr3 and LG v40. Immediately I noticed how forward the mids are. And isolation is better than any of mine. After listening to it for some days, I figured, I love the sound

I've got the KZ Zsn Pro after months of looking for a "cheap" earphone (Expensive for me) and tbh, aren't very impressed. Going from a bootleg earphone with good bass but horrible clarity, to no bass but good clarity wasn't great.

It has a slight hiss which I managed to remove by turning on "UHQ Upscaler" in android. But the sibilance which I can't get rid off keeps bugging me and the large nozzle causes fatigue on my small ear canals. The bass is less than I like. And the high sensitivity makes it loud at 2% on pc. Although it is great with metal and heavy edm like "Alan Walker - Spectre", which is a genre I don't listen much.

I'm thinking of buying a new earphone, with a budget of <25$. Here's my taste:

-BASS, as long as it doesn't mud out the treble
-small ears
-Genre: R&B, Soul, Pop
-hate sibilance
-maybe high impedance for listening on pc

Got my eyes on BL-03, and now the quarks. Any suggestions?

Got the quarks for my sister

 Although, it didn’t use Bluetooth 5.0, which does increase the bandwidth of the wireless signal, and will eventually allow for maybe even dual stream audio channels, I can understand the manufacturer wanted to use a technology that has already matured somewhat with Bluetooth 4.2, and since I don’t really plan on doing dual streaming, this was not a particular con for me.  I use an iPhone so my codec is limited to AAC, so the LDAC, AptX-HD, and all the other fancier codec didn’t particular matter to me, and I don’t think I’m sonographically trained enough to really hear the difference between loveless high-bit audiophile grade files versus simple 256kbps AAC files over Bluetooth (although Apple has the best implementation of this), saying that I do use Tin Audio T3 headphones and HD58x for my listening pleasure, and I can at least tell you that they are probably as good as when hooked up to my computer as when listening it through wirelessly through streaming services, Google Play, and with some lossless files that I have in both FLAC and ALAC formats

  TLDR: Pro: #1. Sounds good, if that’s all you are looking a Bluetooth receiver with all the advance codec #2. Looks handsome #3. Quality seems nice #4

  The device itself is small and sleek, it has a very glossy front end, and the back clip feels like its metal and of somewhat high quality. It has both the USB-C (2.0?) charging port and the 3.5 mm headphone port at, I guess the bottom, of the device

 Then again, I don’t think I could hear much difference between using this Bluetooth receiver from the much less expensive Bluetooth receivers by cheaper Chinese companies like MPOW, which is about half the price, but then these don’t utilize some of the more expensive ones.  Features on this little device, once hooked up to the FiiO music application on the phone actually is quite impressive. One of the things that annoyed me out of the box was the constant blinking FiiO logo, which tells you about the connection and the type of codec it is using, once again to me it didn’t really matter because in only have AAC on my Apple product, but this could be turned off in the application, the connectivity to the app is shoddy at times. It does have these digital modifications about the sound, which to me makes absolutely no difference, but then again, unless you are really into music and listen for it on a daily basis, its unlikely (I have no references) it will make much of a difference

High quality codec’s and nice device, but USB-C to USB-C doesn’t work...

 As previously mentioned, Theo does provide an app called Vo Control, which allows some extra control of the device. Vo Control provides a few options including a graphic equaliser, channel balance, manual selection of the Bluetooth codec, and disabling the LED. It's worth noting that this app isn't the optional and other than the EQ, it just allows finer control of certain features. So how does the BT R3 sound? Well, I should hope that it doesn't sound like anything I Want my solid state sources to be as transparent as possible? No

 DSP no special tricks to deliberately color the sound Now I'm not an engineer so I can't do measurements and talk in detail about SNR and sine Adam THD or whatever. But as their mobile device itself, the competition for the BT R3 is really just the headphone out on your mobile music player. So I Think this test should be? Is it noisy for high sensitivity earphones? and is it better or at least not worse than the headphone out on your phone? These are the kind of real-world benchmarks that matter to me as someone who's not an engineer. Can I hear a negative difference and the answer to that is no I Couldn't detect any noise with sensitive IMS But I should note that as the volume controls are independent, you do want to have the volume up on the player to around 95% and then adjust the volume from the BTR 3 and that's going to give you the best signal-to-noise ratio

I may be broke but, at least I have you.

 It still sounds quite good, again, having a bit of a tune for bass.  Build quality is excellent. Metal casing and what fells like glass on the front, but pretty sure is just clear plastic. That part is a fingerprint magnet

 This device only does 16bit/48khz, even on PC. Also, my phone also only recognizes this device as a Headphone/AUX and not a actual USB DAC, which, sadly, is the same issue I have with all other USB C to AUX adapters or dongles I have tried so far. It still sounds quite good, again, having a bit of a tune for bass.  Build quality is excellent

I bought this to use with my Pixel 3 to convert my VMODA Crossfade Wireless headphones to use LDAC, since the BT chip VMODA included in the headphones only does SBC.  The sound quality is amazing! On par with my Sony earbud headset that supports LDAC built in. Fiio does seem to have tuned it a bit to enhance bass, which i like.  Install the FiiO Music app

EQ is not implemented yet. Excellent sound.

 Draw separate button so this is for on and off also for pairing this is used to play pause also to call voice assistant and this is for tracks and volume control. Actually BT r3 has separate volume control from your device so you can adjust volume in more precise way. and also here is microphone because there is a built-in microphone using Qualcomm's noise cancellation algorithm and on the bottom there is a USB connector for charging and to use these tiny devices. USB digital on up converter and headphones out so it works pretty traditional

 so you know the era of wireless connectivity is getting more and more close. I won't do comparisons this time. You know sonically, it's a bit better than BTR 3 It's more natural on upper mids because it was probably one of the drawbacks of BTR one and it's actually I Have briefly listened your Studios wireless receiver and you know honestly, maybe it might just subjective opinion, but I found it's treble sound too artificial and to distort it, but this one is better in terms of turbulent on the mids and lows is they are probably on the same level, but I don't have a chance to listen your Studios receiver for a longer time to get my opinion. So if you're looking for some wireless device, if you have for example, smart phone this phone without the output and you want to use it, it's a really good option

FiiO BTR3 review

The BTR3 sounds great and drives the X2HRs really well. Hooked up to my PC via atpX bluetooth, I am getting no discernible latency. This is a great way to make any pair of headphones wireless with minimal fuss.

I have a similar setup with my X2HR and a ES100 using [this short cable.](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L0YPVOY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) However, this cable is significantly shorter than yours, so I wrapped velcro lower around the metal posts and clip the ES100 there.

Converted my Fidelio X2HRs into low-latency wireless gaming headphones (FiiO BTR3 Bluetooth receiver, Rode TRS patch cable)

 I turned around and ordered the EarStudio ES-100 MK2 to replace it so look forward to trying that one.

 It had plenty of volume and drove any headphones or IEM's I plugged into it. My Xiaomi phone does not have a headphone jack to I was using a third party dongle with a decent DAC in one end when listening to music. It sounded pretty good especially when listening via the PowerAmp app utilizing the HD output instead of ESL. The only problem with that setup was misplacing the dongle or it eventually failing at the short cable between the connectors

 And the build quality seemed really good. This little guy made actual Bluetooth headphones/ear monitors sound pathetic. It had plenty of volume and drove any headphones or IEM's I plugged into it. My Xiaomi phone does not have a headphone jack to I was using a third party dongle with a decent DAC in one end when listening to music

Hello, I am thinking of either buying wireless IEMs from KZ (listed) or simply just to buy the wireless adapter (listed) and use it with my current KZ ZSN ProX.

  
Currently I have my ProX and want to have wirelees experience. So i wanted to ask what do you guys suggest. Should i go with new wireless IEMs or just buy the APTX or TRN BT20 wireless adaptor.  
I am not sure about the sound quality of the Z1 and S2 when they basically cost the same as my ProX but are wireless. I dont want the sound "quality" to be worse than my ProX so.Would be gratefull for all your advice and suggestions.
