<p>Edit 2 :): Tried Sennheiser HD560s, liked them much more. Returned Beyerdynamics. 560s are really much, much better for CS GO, PUBG. Positioning is on another level. Also, they are more comfortable on my head. Some people say that the clapping force is too much, I didn&#39;t even feel that. Also, I enjoy the music more. I&#39;m no expert, but I think that the neutral sound of 560s is really what I was looking for. There is sound leaking, obviously, but I think I will live with that, because they do give an advantage in games. Moreover, I didn&#39;t even bother with DAC/AMP, and didn&#39;t even increase volume much (16-20 of 100) and can hear everything perfectly, better than my mates with closed headphones. Hope this helps someone. Beyerdynamics are great headphones, more reliable, closed (no audio leaking), but if games is the most important thing for you - you definitely should look for open-back.</p>

I helped my little brother pick out a pair of Akg k240's and I thought they were pretty good. I started looking for akg headphones to upgrade my current setup, and I found these. They don't sound that different compared to my sennheiser HD 58x but these are so comfortable. I have always liked to frictionless headband style, but the soft leather headband and earpads make these feel like they honestly float on my head. As a poor college student, these are going to serve me well for a long time!

I knew I would like this, but damn!

Positional sound queues were spot on, I was able to prefire corners confidently. All in all, it sounds good. I don't have any other experience in this price bracket, so I just touched on the basics. Equipment used: Quedelix 5k, Fiio K3, Schiit Magni/Modi 3

I intend to pick new headphones mainly for gaming immersion (mainly playing solo RPG and space sims, rarely FPS) and to listen to music (metal, folk and classical) at home on my desktop PC. 

I am quite impressed by the reviews on the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro (Open(ish), 250 Ohms) and DT 770 Pro (closed, 80 Ohms). Which one should I take?

To drive it I would like to start with a rather inexpensive amp/DAC to experience it. I have to give up on American imports like schiit or JDS labs or Mayflower unfortunately because of the costs to import to my European country, time to deliver too long etc... I have noticed from this sub and different reviews a few candidates.

I like the iFi Zen for the features, the K3 for the look and form factor and the K5 for the look and the power.

Most of the time it's very quiet around here, but still I need to be aware when my colleagues try to speak to me.

So are there open backs, which do have minimal leakage so no one is bothered?

Or are closed backs with some ambient/transparency/whatever mode the only way to go? (So far I had no good experiences with Sonys as the voices around me are not present enough to cut through the music)

Can this even be achieved? Or is this a pipe dream?

My budget is about £150 so let's say $200
Rn I own Grado sr325e and I mainly use them for music and watching movies. 
Like I mentioned before I want the source to be my pc, so I don't particularly care if I could use it with my phone, although it would be a small bonus.
I listen to pretty much everything apart from rap and hip-hop. Ranging from classical to rock, and everything in between. 
I don't mind getting a used DAC
I'm planning on getting more headphones in the future, and possibly a speaker set, but nothing too costly.
It might also help to mention that I use tidal premium, and gonna upgrade to HiFi subscription, or gonna switch to Amazon HD?

I have been considering something like a Quadelix 5k, but I figured that there must be better options for desktops.
