Maybe the xiaoxin pad plus, the 2020 one. Big large screen, I think it's 2.5k and doesn't have the blurry edges of the pro one. Last time I checked it was like 280 dollars.

The 10"'ish Tab A models from Samsung have enough power and are a nice size for comic reading, the cheaper Lenovo models are a good option too.

Cheap tab for reading comics

 This problem happen on my earlier HD 10 also. Rebooting doesn't help, syncing doesn't help, and I'm not doing a factory reset for this. It would be nice if Amazon could fix this glitch. The Amazon "system" works so well in most other areas it just seems kind of petty in these two areas, it will never earn more stars until these things are rectified

Hi -- Been using HA now for about 6 months. Slowly adding devices as I have free time. I am at a point that I want to do 3 wall mount tablets in my home. In a central location on each floor. 

Due to cost, and since these will only run HA, I think I've settled on Amazon's HD tablets. Right now there are several to choose from between the 8 and 10, both with a current generation (2021) and a previous generation (2019). This is ignoring the + models. Amazon sells units that are "lockscreen ad supported" and a more costly variant that doesn't have the lockscreen ads. I've not dived too deep into it but I assumed I'd either sideload googleplay or do fully kiosk, does that mean I can get by with the cheaper lockscreen ad support version or do I need to avoid that?  


I've not settled on a size, and is one reason I'm making this post. Was curious what others have found they preferred. Larger while maybe better for interaction means a bigger presence on the wall.   


Also I'm unsure of wall mounts. I've found a couple that were used in some Youtube tutorials, but I also know these are 3d printed and am concerned of it having that 3d printed plastic cheap look.

 I' ll take this opportunity to further express my vexation with Amazon for shamefully failing to upgrade the connection between usb charger cord and the Kindle connection port. The inexpensive and outdated connection led to the early death of countless Kindles as the connection loosened and failed, never to used again since Amazon neither repairs nor supplies parts to repair this fault. I purchased this new generation Fire because there has been an upgrad, because I don't want to spend hours learning to use an ipad, and because of the price. The verdict is still out on the charging pad

Went onto Amazon and saw they were on sale. Is it worth buying? I've never owned a tablet so this is uncharted territory for me (I'm not tech smart). I think I would just use it for writing, watching videos, and listening to music. Obviously nothing too fancy. Would I get my money's worth with this:

Is a Fire Tablet worth getting?

 the colors were more vibrant and it was like someone turned saturation up in the perfect way. the colors were just so dang good. and the picture was incredibly sharper. They nailed the display perfectly

 is so sharp, and so vibrant the comparison was night and day. The 2019 Fire tablet was good but its colors were more muted and over all more dull. when side by side with the new one. its a no brainer

 The screen real-estate is still 10" just like the 2019 model. What has been shrunk is the dead zones of the tablet along the edges. My pictures should show that :)  Now to the review.  Comparing to the Kindle FIre HD 10 (2019) BLUE vs the new Kindle fire HD 10 + (black)  Over all

Bigger is not always better.

There's a lot to like about the Fire Tablet, the price, the great battery life, and the bright, albeit HD-only display. All are good or better than other devices in this category that I have used. Crummy camera, though, but what can you expect for the price? A HUGE disappointment, though, is the lack of applications and the software experience in general. This is, after all, and Android device, but due to Amazon wanting to contol and "personalize" the underlying Android OS, we are left with a watered-down, crippled version of Android

 Among the top missing ones are GMail, Chrome, Google Maps, Calendar, Contacts, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Keep. Many other applications are missing also, including any you may have purchased through the Google Play Store. This alone is grounds for -2 stars. Not quite worth the loss of another star is that the tablet is fairly bulky, plasticy feeling, and heavy

 It is simply not there and an incredibly useful feature that Amazon seems too have completely abandoned. This is truly inexcusable and has forced me to drop yet another star. Amazon has great hardware, but they have let everyone down with their proprietary nonsense and closed software system. I have owned Android devices forever now and have never, ever, run into one as closed and featureless as the Fire tablet

Great price point and battery life, but missing all Google apps/app store, screen casting, and VPN

The mount is a little flimsy, but for the price, it's a great setup. I'm using a 120v to USB-C converter that I ran wires from down wall to a light switch for power. I need to automate the charging still so it isn't charging 24/7, otherwise it's a easy setup for low cost, and works like a charm. PS, I feel like my 10" is already too small, so I'd steer clear of an 8" display

Wall mounted tablet

 So far this new tablet hasn't done that, but I can't be sure as yet since I haven't used it enough. The 7th gen tablet that I traded in rarely ever dropped the internet connection.  This one synced up with my Amazon content nicely. Email has to be re-authenticated, of course

I wanted to experience the ease of the Bluetooth keyboard, and the convenience of the wireless charging dock. I also have a 10" 9th generation, since I do all my reading on tablets and play a lot of games. I like to have two tablets so that one of them always has a charge.  I have not received my charging dock yet
