Dashcam newbie here. Am strongly considering getting a dashcam, seeing how many close calls happen with all the videos. I am thinking about the viofo A129 Duo. (Not sure if I should get the plus / pro versions). I am just most worried about installing and hiding all the wires. I have a newer 2021 Toyota Corolla LE which was an extremely big purchase on my end and I don’t want to do anything to mess up my car. Does anyone have advice on how to hide the wires for the front and back cameras? Are there mechanics who install it for you? How much does installation and hiding the wires cost?
Do people recommend a different dashcam over the A129 duo? I like how it’s relatively cheaper compared to all others but still seems like a strong dashcam, but it’s just to big and bulky, I’m afraid it will block view of the road, and also be very noticeable and get stolen. Something small would be ideal. Some dashcam are only the camera without a screen on it, which seems better to me to better hide it, and can always review video on the phone. Any thoughts?

<p>I saw the FitcamX on Amazon - seems relatively easy to install onto the Toyota Corolla 2021 and seems to integrate ok. Does anyone have experience with this dashcam? Is it good compared to the ones on the About section of this sub? Is there an option to get a rear dashcam?</p>

Any great 2020/2021 recommendations for a Toyota Corolla?

 So they give you a longer screw. And what you're going to do is you're going to put that in and screw this in to place. And again, they give you the tools to do so. As you can see that one, you can pretty much finger tighten it

 This is it right here. You're unplugging the power cable that goes into the back of your mirror and you're going to install this harness in between the power from the truck and the mirror. So it just plugs in there and then you plug this into the back of the mirror. I'm going to turn it a little bit to get it out of the way

 And what you're going to do, they give you a bracket and it is this bracket right here. There's a little groove and a little round thing. It goes in the hole where you took that screw out. So you're going to put that up there just like that

 You can clearly make out the license plate and the street sign so you can see the detail and quality is there. Alright, so this one is a night video shot. As you can see this is just a beautiful picture at night. This camera does really well recording the details

 So the whole point of this dash cam is it's supposed to be a nice stealthy setup, one that you won't really be able to see and that won't distract you while you're driving. And also a nice easy way to connect to your car, no having to splice or anything like that. So let's go ahead and let's open it up and let's see what we got. All right, you guys, let's go ahead and let's open this up

 So now it's recording, so as you can see it's going blue to red, that's because now it wants to sync. Let's go ahead and show you guys how we sync it up with the app. All right, you guys, so we got the camera going and we're going to open up the app Fit Cam X. So you do want to use the instruction manual to connect the camera

 So they actually sent me over this dash cam so that I could do a review on it. So this dash cam is for my 2022 Tacoma Tier D off road. However, they do sell this dash camera for other makes on models of cars. So make sure to go on their website and check it out

I am going to have everything professionally installed. My local shop only does BlackVue so I was going to get the DR750X Plus. 

But then I saw the Vantrue N4 and love that it is 3 channels. Now I'm torn which to get. Or if there are better ones?

I like the WiFi/Mobile access of the BlackVue but prefer the 3 channel.

Open to other suggestions.

I have a 2021 RAV4 Prime which is a plug in hybrid. I want sensor parking mode where it'll record if feels an accident. I only need it to be "on" for a few hours after the car is turned off.

Price is not a concern/factor but I won't pay extra for 4k -- I'm happy with 1080p. I am in the US.

FitcamX, yep. I just got one and am disappointed in the video quality and was wondering if it was just mine. Guess not. Like one reviewer said, it's a $50 dashcam with a $150 housing
