[Tudor] Best way to end this troubling year

 Hopefully at some point I step up my game to a point that I'll use all the features and I do hope that with firmware updates the vibration and heart rate tracking become a little more consistent.

 This happens often enough to be concerning, especially considering how much I paid for the device. Another complaint I have is whilek try to use the breathing app, I constantly am missing vibrations for my breathing timer because the vibration just isn't strong enough. I'd I want to use it effectively I have to actually watch my watch face to tell me when to breath, hold breath, etc, kind of defeating the whole purpose of the exercise which is to focus on breathing. Again, this wouldn't be that concerning if I hadn't spent so much money on this

When I purchased this device it was with the understanding that the premium price that I was paying was for THE smart/activity tracking experience to end all experiences. On cheaper devices these inconsistencies would be overlooked but at this price point it's unacceptable

  I do love the device even with my several concerns and don't have buyer's remorse per se, but I definitely could have opted for a cheaper device given what I need it for. Just make sure you really need this and check out their other devices before jumping on this one. Only Buy if You Really Need All the Options

I just unpacked my Fenix 6S today + I’m already so excited about it—love that it has message/notification functionality, a longer battery life, and can still track all my workouts. Do I need to calibrate it at all for a first run?

 I really dislike carrying my phone everywhere, so this was a must. While other Garmin models also offer this feature, what made me buy the Fenix was battery life, button control (I dislike touch screens on watches) and the solid feel of the watch. Not to mention the default watch face is gorgeous. I also like the ability to customize power modes or to put it into power saving mode very quickly

I am very happy with this watch, but remember I wish I bought AW in the beginning. My main concern now is the difference in battery life. I am very pleased with Garmin, and have heard about battery issues with AW. I think that is the only thing holding me back is this, and the price maybe:):)

Garmin watches allow you to get more data (both via internal sensors and via external sensors), Garmin platform offers nice and free guided plans (both static and performance-adjusting) for running as well as free workouts for several activities. With Apple Watch you'd have to have a subscription (and likely more than one) to have the same functionality

I would agree with Pavel. If your primary goal is to just stay fit then any of the Apple Watches will work fine. The Apple Watch is more of a smartwatch than a fitness watch, so you may need to download third-party apps to the Apple Watch to end up with a solution that works for you.

I currenty own a Garmin Vivoactive 3, and it is time for a change:) I am looking into AW S6, but wondering if SE would be enough, or else I am thinking about Fenix 6s. The only thing about fenix is that I find it so "heavy", while the AW is so sleek and goes with almost every outfit or whatever. My main activities are running, weightlifting, rowing, skiing and hiking. Maybe fenix is a bit overkill either way..?

I did consider buying AW since before vivoactive, but my choice was based on price back then. I am very happy with this watch, but remember I wish I bought AW in the beginning. Switching from Garmin to AW?

 The Fenix 6 has way better battery life.  Value: The Ionic is a way better value at $200 vs $800 for a Fenix 6.  OVERALL: I like the quality of the Fenix 6. I wouldn't buy another Fitbit because I got tired of the poor customer support and products that broke right after the warranty period

  Reliability: My coworker had a Fenix 3 for 4 years with no issues. I have not had a Fitbit product last me more than just out of warranty before it broke.  Features: The Fenix 6 is the most feature packed fitness tracker on the market. If its trackable, this thing can track it  Application: If you are into challenges and connecting with other users, stick with Fitbit

If you are a casual user, the fitbit app is better otherwise the garmin app is better  Sync: I can tell you that the Garmin brand watches sync way better than fitbit. I'm about to delve back in to the realm of fitness watches for the first time in years. I'm having a hard time deciding which Garmin to get.

The primary use will be running. I am doing about 22 to 25 mpw right now, almost all streets. People seem to be saying that if the primary application is running,  definitely go with a forerunner for some of the running analysis feature.

However, the Venu Square and the Fenix 5s also look appealing to me. Should I forget about those and just go with a Forerunner 245? Or does it not really matter which type I get for somebody in my situation?

Is Garmin's forerunner series clearly better for runners than other Garmins?

 In a day or so, I noticed the watch was not recording my heart rates. I re-started it and syned with GarminExpress/GarminConnect, and it started to record heart rates again. This kept happaening and it got worse on 9/8, and finally I shipped it back to Amaon. I have used 5s sapphire version for a few years and known how to use and take care of Garmin multi-sports watch

 It shouldn't be diffficult to make the watch to record my heart rates. As I saw good customer reviews here, I thought I maybe got a defective one in a bad batch. I requested a replacement. I'm waiting for a response from Amaon
