Which Garage Door opener is the best? Please suggest.

  Make sure you have a good WiFi signal in your garage on your phone using 2.4GHZ and that you WiFi router supports WPA2/AES personal encryption (AES with TKIP can cause issues, use AES without TKIP unless you have devices more than 10 years old). If you have a weak WiFi signal, you WILL have problems with the device going offline and the door not responding. The WiFi signal is your responsibility to check and correct if improvement is needed (Relocate your WiFi router closer to the garage or use a WiFi extender)

Chamberlain MyQ Garage Door Opener - Worth the purchase

 The cons are annoying, and very similar to many of the other negative comments from others. The track rail was shorter than my previous unit, so I had to completely remount the L-brackets to move the head unit. Many other units are standard rail lengths, so why can't Genie follow suit? The bigger issues are with the wireless technology, specifically the outdoor wireless keypad and wireless connectivity with the car's HomeLink transmitters. The outdoor wireless keypad has lost connectivity / codes twice already, and had to be defaulted and reprogrammed

It's a bit useless to have an unreliable keypad if you have to get into your garage and the codes won't work. With respect to the automobile HomeLink connectivity, it absolutely won't receive signal to open the door when you approach from outside

This garage door opener is OK, but I wished I had spent the extra $40 and purchased a different manufacturer that offered a couple more useful features (ie. better / brighter LED lights, as well a motion sensor that turns on lights when you enter garage). The pros of this Genie unit is it is extremely quiet. The directions are easy to follow, and parts are in colored coded pouches to match the steps on the instructions

Rhetorical question/rant - I've had a MyQ for a couple years and it just generally sucks.  Works maybe 80% of the time, no apparent rhyme or reason.  And when it fails to work, it fails consistently so just "trying again" doesn't help, which is super frustrating.  I'm not doing any fancy HA integration, just pushing the effing button on their effing app.  Just a minute ago, I want the door to close, push button, stupid MyQ beeps stupidly for 10 seconds, then nothing happens.  Consistently, repeatedly.  But if I close the door 'manually' then push the MyQ button again, it opens just fine.  Consistently, repeatedly.  So there's clearly nothing wrong with any of the communication links in the chain... just the MyQ is trash.  

Exactly the opposite of what I need in a garage door thingamajig.  

Anybody found a way to make this thing not suck?

Why is Chamberlain MyQ such unreliable trash?

  The Genie customer service gave me several items to check, but none of them were at fault so I could not trust the opener to keep the door closed when we were away from home.  As a result i had to take it down and return to Costco for a refund.

I had a Genie opener at my previous house for years, and had no problems.  So I purchased this model from Costco to upgrade my opener.  It was very quiet, and I liked the LED lighting.  Otherwise, I was disappointed

  It was also difficult to get the down travel just right. If I adjusted it so that the door closed gently, it would fail the safety contact reverse test.  The door had to close very firmly to pass that test.  And when adjusting the up travel limit, you have to be very careful since there is no stop for the shuttle, and it will bang into the drive unit

I have a Genie garage door opener and it's simple to do this with the Aladdin Connect app that it uses, and it doesn't try to charge for using the smart features like MyQ does.

It works, but the programming rules only work in the app, not from handheld or car controls
