Those are so many to choose from, and a lot of them have great reviews. I got this because it has the UVC lamp inside the center, with a titanium dioxide plate which is supposed to actually kill germs and viruses and mold, I'm going to show you where the bulb is real, quick, so I've removed the three screws and this plate just Comes right off and you're supposed to use a cloth and you just pull this bulb straight out of the socket, and then you would replace it and put this back on and replace the screws. I replace the screws

Germ Guardian AC5900 - Hepa Filter with UV-C Light Germ-Virus-Mold Killing Feature

This purifier has three speeds: Extremely fast/loud, very fast/loud, and super silent. The super silent speed moves almost no air, but the other two speeds are far too loud. There is almost no difference between high and medium, but then low is just super silent and moves almost no air. I really wish there were a couple of speeds between medium and low

 After mere minutes of running on medium (loud) the smells were gone. Switching to low (silent) the smells stay away.  The lack of a true middle speed is very disappointing. Its either too loud or doesn't move as much air as I'd like

  This purifier does indeed clean the air. We placed it in a room with cat litter boxes and cat food, both of which created a noticeable but mild smell (cat litter dust smell and slightly fishy cat food) in the room. After mere minutes of running on medium (loud) the smells were gone. Switching to low (silent) the smells stay away

 Our average particle count was 161.7 particles in the 0.3 micron channel per liter. Basically, in one hour we had an 85

 We averaged about 12.23 particles per liter coming out of the fan and basically that came out to be a filtration rate of 98.9. This is the second test and the particle count basically end of the one hour test, and you can see that the particle count has dropped significantly, especially compared to the 1114 particles that we had in the ambient air prior to starting the test

 We basically did three tests. The first test was basically comparing the ambient air particle count to the air coming directly out of the air purifier. The second test was basically challenging the air purifier for one hour to see how much it could reduce the ambient air particle count. The third test was basically challenging it with an extreme amount of particles by burning incense and getting the particle count up to about 600 000 particles per liter and seeing how long it took the air purifier to get the particle count under a thousand particles per liter

. So we've been using this for almost two months and surprisingly we don't cough during the night anymore and even during the day. So we bought two of these. We put one in our bedroom running 24 7 and we have one in the kitchen and then because we spend most of our time in the kitchen and living room

 This is still the really really good doing the job for filtering, so you can still get a good slip and a good filtering air filtering now we're going to the timer button. So by default, your machine is it's on forever when you turn it on.  What happened was my husband and i was been coughing especially me. I wake up at the middle of the night coughing like crazy with the itchy truth. Sometimes it feels like choking, you know, and then my husband's friend recommended an uh good quality air purifier. So we did a research and we ended up buying this jim guardian ac 5900

I wanted to like this but the simple fact of the matter is, its just too loud unless you keep it at the lowest setting, in which case it barely blows any air at all. After sitting in the room with it on the medium setting for a couple of hours it almost seems like some new kind of torture. I kept telling myself 'its useful for drowning out background noise & while that may have been true when I used to live in a 100 year old house in NY its no longer true here in a new house in FL, especially with double pane windows & doors and since we don't live in a city-- there is no background noise! The sad part about having to return it is that it actually made the room feel cooler when it was on speed 2 & even more so on 3.

Much louder than you'd think

Might be better off buying a box fan and an a filter for an air conditioner and just taping them together, to be honest. The airflow and performance on this, for $200, is only fine. Not very powerful for how loud it is. One funny thing is - if you leave it on for a few days in an enclosed room, you can go through and vacuum all the resulting cobwebs of dust off the ceiling and corners, so in a way I guess that's success

 My allergies were minor the next day but I didn’t wake up wheezing or with a stuffy nose. I asked my husband how his allergies were that morning and he said he felt fine, his allergies were super minor which is pretty normal. I checked the air filter and it had already picked up so many particles from the air in 1 night. I give this a 4 stars because it’s ALMOST perfect

 We had Covid a couple months back and we got really sick. We noticed after that our lungs had become more sensitive. We have not changed the original filter since we first got it, but we have changed the charcoal filter 3 times. The air purifier has gotten a little louder than when we first bought it, but we know it’s because it’s time to get a new filter for it

 Then there was smoke season, which I was just not prepared for. After a lot of research on different air purifiers, this one just made more sense due the the multiple things I was dealing with. After having it on the highest level on the first day, I immediately sensed a difference in the air. My allergies weren’t as bad, and I wasn’t waking up in the middle of the night with clogged nose and constant sneezing

 This was how we knew that this is the right air purifier. After having it on high, our sleep that night was rewarding.
