Google products have always had great returns processes for me, but the Pixel Slate team must be outsourced. It is so inept and useless, I have been waiting over 3 months just to get a returns label on a Pixel Slate + keyboard that stopped working within warranty.

 It seems to not even power on or show any indication it is being charged for at least an hour if it is dead. The screen is sensitive and the tablet does run on the latest version of chrome os. That being said, the tablet has a really hard time multitasking. If you are trying to switch between applications there is a significant and noticeable lag time and screen tearing

 This tablet is super overpriced for the hard ware and there is definitely a lack of multitasking. You can see the issue it has with multitasking and even then you get kind of tired of using the touch screen for everything as the keyboard software is a bit weak. That being said it cost a lot for the keyboard and pen which are a bit high in price. So if you are looking for a chrome os tablet this will work but you are better off getting another tablet for better quality and usage at the same price

 The device price I do feel is a bit high for what you are getting. You could get a lot better of a tablet for the same price and they have keyboards included. Not for me. I bought a pixel c and Google took off widevine certification on it a couple of years ago so I can only watch Netflix, prime etc at 480p

It's really left a bad taste in my mouth. I won't consider another Google tablet after this.

I am totally with this idea. Give me a high end Android tablet that isn't Samsung and I would throw money at it.

But looking at Google's recent hardware offerings, we just know they will botch it up and compromise it in some way, even if they do make one.

I have the i7 Pixel Slate. It's a good tablet, too expensive for what it is though. I think it probably has to do with low production quantities.

It's very much Google's style to release a product that has potential and subsequently drop it.

Hot take: i loved the Nexus 9
...
Until it throttles to hell and back...
When it worked, it worked incredibly. Super snappy, light, comfortable grip and perfect screen size.

ChromeOS has matured enough where they should give the Pixel Slate another go tbh. All these ChromeOS tablets need is a high end ARM chip like Tensor to be amazing

Why tho .. ipad pro is by far the best tablet I have used and trust me I had Nexus 7 even the Samsung made Nexus 10.5 which is still stuck on my fridge as kitchen YouTube/Netflix tv.

But ipad is great because of choice of apps and pen and cases.

My Pixel C was perfect. I still have it but I haven't bothered to try to put a newer version of Android on it. The battery for the tablet and the keyboard still have plenty of life in them.

Can we get another Pixel tablet?

I was so excited to get this as I am a Google/ Android enthusiast all the way and have been in the market for a solid 2 in 1. After 2 days though I am returning it. Repeated freezing, stuttering during video playback, poorly optimized Android apps etc and it's going back. I can hardly fathom that Google would release this thing with such poorly vetted software

I have one now and it 's a treat to use but early on, you would've thought you were using an OG Droid from 15 years ago it was so laggy and full of bugs.

I bought the high end Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, and I am facing bugs that are annoying me to no end. Makes me want to go and buy another chromebook, but I have now invested in this one.

Bugs I experience:

1. When the laptop is asleep and on charge, the chromebook reboots itself closing whatever I may have had running
2. When the laptop powers up, it forgets my keyboard and display brightness settings and changes to its default. I have to reset my brightness at each boot ... which happens quite frequently considering that this device reboots itself at its own discretion
3. Android 11 apps (now on ChromeOS) is terrible in full screen mode. There is horrible flicker on the screen with some apps windows of the app overlapping itself (most notably in the play store, manage apps section). See it in youtube videos in full screen mode as well. If I don't go full screen mode on the apps, it seems fine, but this is quite a thing to have to manage.
4. Chrome OS 92 introduced a very infuriating bug where even though windows are in maximize mode, moving the mouse cursor to the top right corner to close the windows, brings up a resize window cursor instead and I cannot quickly close a window just by tossing the cursor to the corner of the screen and clicking.
5. Physical mouse clicks on this chromebook is a hit and miss. I have to press multiple times before a left click registers

This chromebook is in its 2nd year of existence, and such core bugs and bad user experiences like items 1 and 2 still exist

Feeling angry at Samsung and Google because of bug riddled high end chromebook

 My wife has a Pixelbook and it impressed me enough to take a chance on the Slate (when it went on sale). The Pixel Slate's cloth/magnetic keyboard is mediocre at best. It just made for an ungainly, sloppy feeling laptop. The Slate as a tablet is fine, but I didn't buy this thing for simple media consumption
