There is nothing saying that GoPro will even produce another camera this year, and if they do, it's unlikely to be a game-changer in the way that the Hero9 and the Max Lens Mod were. Waiting for the 10 will put you in the same category as my first point, in that you won't have a lot of time to become acquainted with the camera to practice. IMO, get the 9, use it regularly and learn to produce great memories of your trip.

Based on what I see on this sub on a daily basis, users want to see all the best features of the Sony A1, Canon R5 and the Lumix S1h, all wrapped into the body of the Hero9 Black (but with 100% more battery life). Personally, I think they should just fix the things that are currently broken (the app, the webcam, the live streaming, etc) and that would be good enough for me.
