 So here we are in the cavity for the switch but you can see it looks like a better quality kind of switch really than the pots. It reminds me of kind of a Gotoh switch that I've seen but it looks like a good switch so I'd probably be inclined to leave that one in. I'll try and lower this action a little bit. Okay

 Hi this is Kev, welcome to Gear Steer. Today we're going to be unboxing, having a look under the hood and tone testing a Gretsch G2210 Streamliner Junior Jet Club in Vintage White which I purchased from Thomann and yeah having a look at it see what we think, seeing how it compares to its contemporaries. I think this is the cheapest Gretsch on the market, it comes with Broad Tron pickups and in a kind of Les Paul-y type shape. I was looking forward to getting this and I've been enjoying playing it so yeah anyway let's get to the unboxing and see what it's actually like

 It's pretty stripped down and basic. I took the cavity covers off to take the plastic off and I thought I'd have a quick look inside and see what the pots are. So it's got these kind of dime pots which are probably an obvious grade and they look to me to have very similar capacitors in there that the squires come with. Take this pot out, see if it wants to come out easily so we can see it

My 3 top picks are the gretsch g2220 junior, the harley benton hb-60 or one of those ibanez micro basses because these are all quite cheap. If you were in my situation would you buy one of these 3 or something else?

Best budget shortscale bass? [question]

Lovely fit and finish and a suprisingly sweet neck position

 I particularly like the middle setting with both Broad Trons on at the same time. So it sounds great clean. Let's put it through a little bit of grit. I'm going to kick on an overdrive pedal now and we'll see how this thing sounds

 It's also available in a finish called Goldust, Vintage White and Imperial Stain. The pickups on this are Gretsch Broadtron pickups. They're similar to the Filtertron's except they're a little wider. They're more like a humbucker but they still retain that Filtertron clarity

 So And And And And And And And So this guitar reacts great to a little bit of overdrive too, let's crank up the gain a little bit more and see if it can handle some heavy again. So this guitar and the Broad Tron pickups can definitely handle a little bit of gain when you push it, sounds great. Now the guitar is super versatile, Gretsch are known for making guitars that you can pretty much put to any application, it's great for blues, great for classic rock, country, play a little bit of funk with it if you wanted, and pretty much anything in between. This is a great guitar, I honestly can't believe how cheap it is to buy, 250 pounds in the UK, about $300 in the US, so so affordable

 Let's put it through a little bit of grit. I'm going to kick on an overdrive pedal now and we'll see how this thing sounds. GRETSCH G2210 STREAMLINER JUNIOR JET CLUB - Budget Friendly Workhorse

I've had my Jr Jet about a year and a half, and while I love the dimensions and playability, I'm not a fan of the look or the flabby E-string. While the string tension issue is more or less universal to shortscales, having tried out some MiM Mustangs, I know that it can be much better controlled than the Gretsch seems to be capable of. Got a chance to pick up a VM Squier Jaguar SS at a very good price, and wondering if any owners can speak to the E-string feel before I drive out an take a look.

Small hand female bass player here. I bought a Gretsch junior jet and it’s relatively affordable and sounds great! The shorter neck has really allowed me to improve my bass playing and dexterity

so i don’t exactly have the smallest hands (i have big hands compared to other women, but compared to men’s they’re smaller). i currently have a yamaha trbx174 (honestly it was the one i could afford) and it fits my necessities atm. it is small, light and medium quality. just like a lot of people i do have the fender dream (i really want a fender jazzbass one day) but i have tried them before and i find them too big and heavy for my hands and body, also expensive (even a squier) so that’s for the future… but im thinking of upgrading to a better bass, anyone have any recs of basses that are maybe smaller, lighter, good for smaller hands and don’t cost a kidney? i could go for something more expensive than a yamaha trbx but not as expensive as a fender. just say anyhting and i’ll look up the prices online and local stores

Gorgeous and has way more character than my LP. I put a Tru-Arc on it. Only bad thing about the guitar was the damn rattling bridge. It still makes *noises*, but I'm starting to think they're part of the package. Still sounds like a dream. I didn't think much of Gretsch before, but they do their own thing and do it well. I think I'll get a semi-hollow next time. The Tru-Arc is cool but not as life-changing as the hype would lead you to believe.
