The length of the cuff also makes one-handed donning and doffing a tall order unless they're hanging from a hook. Nice but really large

The cloth variety that I've had in the past have been subject to at least two faults: they can burn, leaving a permanent reminder of your faux pas, and one tends to "feel the heat" fairly quickly. In contrast, thus far these mitts have not burned, I've felt the heat - but much longer after their predecessors, and they're more solid, bending but not as easily..

 Also note that in my comparison pics, the 3-month-old grey one is in pretty much the same shape as the brand new turquoise one. This is after daily use! The only way I see these failing is if they get cut or ripped somehow, at which point I will promptly buy another set.
