IKEA Finnala

Purchased the Finnala sofa and after 24 hours the back cushions have yet expand. I called Ikea and they said I need to wait the full 72 hours before they can act. Considering they have not changed in the last 24 hours I seriously doubt anything is going to happen in the next 48 hours…. The associate said the only thing they can do is replace the the cushions and that unfortunately there are no non-vacuole sealed options.

I can't stand sitting on it unless I am on the chaise. Too many hard/structural points you can feel through the cushions. Needless to say we are looking for a replacement. Right now I am looking at both the Finnala and the Kivik as I like those styles the most.

I have 2 dogs and kids who are still young, but not toddler stage. I want something that I can clean easily, which probably means having the ability to remove the covers and machine wash them. Ikea Finnala sectional ($1,250):

I just bought the Finnala sofa from IKEA, we put it together and I noticed the wood (particle board?) smells like horse manure/farm smell. I’ve never smelled this before! (I’ve bought ikea couches in the past, and they’ve had a chemical smell but never a manure smell).

Just got confirmation that Ikea Canada is discontinuing the Finnala footstool but not the rest of the series. This is super disappointing as the whole reason I wanted the finnala was to make a corner L shaped couch with the footstool on the end. Now I won't be buying any part of the couch (not that there's any other piece in stock anyways). Not sure why they made this business decision but it definitely sucks since it was available and in stock one day and then completely missing from the website the next.

The classic fold out style, like the FINNALA, are uncomfortable because the main support is a bar that runs under the mattress between the two centre legs, which digs into your back or hip when you’re sleeping. Something like the LYCKSELE appears to have better distributed support and folds up into a compact loveseat.

I’ve been test-sitting sofas at my local ikea and plan to buy the finnala. I really like the arm height compared to kivik, find it easier to get up from, and the seat depth is right for me. I also find the cushions to be way softer.

Recently bought the Finnala and it is wildly uncomfortable. I’m going to return the cushions and buy good quality upholstery foam cushions instead (not from Ikea). The cushions are really, really firm. I don’t know what ikea was thinking.

Hi everyone!. I’m in the process of moving into my first apartment I’ve settled on the Finnala sofa bed, specifically the 3 seater with chaise.

The next closest Ikea is 3.5 hours away. I’d consider borrowing or renting an appropriately large vehicle and making that trip, but … the problem is that getting all of the necessary FINNALA components seems to be a total crapshoot. All of the stores I’ve checked in a 4 hour radius are out of stock with at least one of the necessary parts.
