It wasn’t powerful enough to make almond butter, but we don’t consider that a deal breaker for a blender in this price range. The control panel is quite busy (sporting buttons for no less than three different kinds of milk, for example) but is easy enough to use. The glass jar is heavy and clumsy to wash because you can’t get the electronics on the bottom wet. The machine successfully cooked and blended raw ingredients into piping hot soup, something we’ve never seen from a blender before.

Soup function is perfect, only at sea level

  Pros: It is a blender. It does blendery stuff. It makes my morning smoothies.  It has a glass cup

  Overall, this blender will blend the things. It will do a mediocre job, loudly, and slowly build up a layer of gunk in those hard to reach places. I am saving for a Vitamix.

This is a good entry blender. It makes decent smoothies- not super smooth I have to run mine through twice, but I am okay with that because I didn't know if I'd use a blender enough to invest in something like a Vitamix.  Pros: It is a blender. It does blendery stuff

Mediocre blender at best

 There are seniors in my household who need to use a blender for cooking and given their arthritis and bone issues, they simply cannot lift this heavy weight. It's unreasonable for them to count on me or my husband to lift the out and clean it each time they used it. So I had to make the tough decision to return this one.  In summary, designers of Instapot blender- in additional to features and functionality, also please strongly consider the usability for the demographic who might use this blender

Great functionality but poor usability

 Fingers crossed that this is the last one for me.  Original review: For the two weeks that it worked, this blender quickly became my favorite. It makes a great smoothie while you tend to other things with the automatic smoothie cycle. I really like the self cleaning function as well

 Per the instructions I never let the pitcher bottom get wet. However, within the second week of use, the cycles stopped short of completion and the whole blender powers off. I’m a little heartbroken and really hope this is an anomaly. Waiting on a replacement from amazon then I’ll be back to update this review

Hoping the replacement lasts longer than 2 weeks...

  It loses and will never get back the second star because the pitcher can't go in the dishwasher and can't be submerged in water, period. I guess it took a team of geniuses to render the product absolutely worthless in that regard by making the bottom of the pitcher 1/2 of the power unit. I have to dry the inside with a towel after a cleaning cycle as if it had been in a dishwasher anyway.  It saves time not having to use the dishwasher, but I'm going to look for a brand in which I can use 3 pitchers on a constant rotation with the normal dish load

I purchased this blender for smoothies mainly, although I did try some soup recipes a few times. The blender is very hard to clean if there is any scorching at all, so I mainly stuck to my daily smoothies. After about 6 months, the blender developed a crack in the bottom of the blender jar. Amazon replaced the machine for me, which was awesome

 I've taken it apart as much as possible and cleaned it, but with the daily slow leak of the smoothie, it is impossible to keep clean. I've tried to find the source/tighten things up to no avail. I hate to throw away anything, especially appliances. I wish I had invested in a forever-blender, like a Vitamix

Blender has a shelf-life of about a 8 months 🙁

 Its function is just what we wanted- It is one powerful blender beast! But I dont like the cleaning aspect.

I read a few reviews regarding concerns over having difficulty cleaning their blender because you can't take the blade portion off so I made sure to immedietely clean our blender after each use then ran the clean cycle after. We made soup a couple times which was great! However it now has a mildew moldy smell even after I ran the clean cycle with bleach. We noticed some mold forming inside but cant open the bottom blade section to clean it. There are screws I could try to figure out how to pop it open but if we need to do this often, I don't see the point in keeping this blender

Great powerful blender! Not easy to clean...

 The device take a long time to reach up to temperature for hot settings . It makes a lot of noise while blending the soymilk,left it on making soymilk late at night and my husband thought the neighbours were doing renovations.

Love hate situation

It's kind of a bummer that my blender worked great for about one year (of almost daily use). It has now fallen apart -- there is leaking in the middle and oil is dripping out. To top it off, I've emailed customer service of Instant brands to see if I can fix it (instead of creating waste and buying a brand new blender), and I'm still awaiting a reply from customer service. A blender should just last longer! If you're looking to make a long-term investment, look elsewhere

 There is a way to clean the glass container while it stays on the blender, but I have not done that yet. Another negative is that the lid on the top of the glass container must be rotated perfectly into place so it locks in, or the blender won't turn on. I find this cumbersome. I guess it's a safety feature (?) In terms of blending, this appliance does a pretty good job
