Lastly, we think the Mini's 2-foot power cord is too short. Electrical outlets in dorm rooms or older homes and apartments are few and far between. A longer cord would give this model greater range and functionality.

Love Your RV

 What lid? I dug the box out of the trash & double checked. There was no lid. I then read some additional reviews & learned that it doesn't come with a lid! What??? It's a slow cooker!! No lid? It works great for pressure cooking but I bought this because it says it's useful for several things. I intended to get rid of my 3 Crockpots, steamer & 2 pressure cookers but it doesn't have one of the essential pieces

 So your regular rack is not going to fit. It also means that any pots that you have that are seven inches wide are not going to go into this. So I happen to have several that are six inches. Six inches by three is about, I think, the maximum of what you want to try to cram in there comfortably and safely

 Nice, heavy stainless steel cooking bowl, pretty heavy duty bottom on it. Okay so the build quality looks pretty good on it. It says getting started, place steam release handle on lid, install condensation collector, back a cooker and they want me to put in, do a test run with three measuring cups full of water. Let's try that again

 Here's the yogurt. You can delay start it so you know you want to set it, you go out and when you come back everything is ready, you've got saute and slow cook and pressure cook. There we go I just guess it finished its two minute cycle, now it's in the keep warm mode. So now we'll just cancel that and I think from the instructions you're supposed to turn this thing over to venting, to use gloves or something

 Okay so let's see what, looks pretty good, looks pretty good, steamy, so we'll get those out of there and put some more sauce on them and get them on the barbeque, what do you think of that beagle, oh yeah, okay let's coat it with a little more sweet baby raisin on there, let them heat up and caramelize a bit and get all yummy, yeah, someone's losing their little beagle mind over there, oh my god, smells so good, yeah so they're literally just falling off the bone, they're going to be so yummy. Those turned out excellent, oh so good, hands out on her boat right now, wait until she comes home, got some tasty rubs, anyway so far so good with the instant pot, it's a hit with me, what I'm going to do, rather than get too much into an in-depth review, it's been done a thousand times on the internet, but what I'm going to do is do some tests with my inverter, this model says it puts out 700 watts or needs 700 watts to run, my inverter is a thousand watts so I should be able to test with my inverter and I'll test on maybe one of these 30 minute pressure cooking cycles and maybe I'll do like you know a four hour or so slow cooker cycle and I'll unhook all my charging, my charge converter and my solar panel so I'll start with 100% battery power and we'll see how many amp hours I lose running the old instant pot here, it'll be an interesting test, so stay tuned for that, until next time, oh I've got to give the beagle some, she's been losing her mind like crazy, a little bit of beagle stuff here, there, some of this gooey stuff, there you go, okay beagle, wait, ah, no, wait, sit, sit, good girl, sit pretty, there you go, speak, speak, speak, that's your best speak, speak bigger, lay down, okay, okay, yes, I'll have to see if the beagle approves of it, yeah I'm thinking it gets the beagle approval, definitely, until next time, Ray from loveyourrv.com, cheers everyone.

A Steep Learning Curve

 Sealing is marked right here. After you're finished cooking, this handle can be turned to the venting position marked here, and that lets steam out, which is called quick release. Or you can wait until the float valve here drops down on its own, which takes at least 10 minutes or longer depending on how much food you have in the cooker. The float valve comes up all the way when full pressure is reached inside the unit, and goes down all the way when all pressure is released

 It doesn't lock. It's supposed to be loose. When you first get the unit, wash the pot, the lid, condensation collector, trivet, plastic measuring cup, spoon and ladle, steam release handle, and the anti-block shield in warm soapy water. Pour a few tablespoons of oil in

 This is the steam release handle. It should be turned to sealing whenever you're pressure cooking. Sealing is marked right here. After you're finished cooking, this handle can be turned to the venting position marked here, and that lets steam out, which is called quick release

 I kook for them lots of times.  So I plan my menu--pigs nuckles, collerd greens, grasshopper gizzards and a big sweet potato pie for dessert. And with lots of time, I stop over to the Piggy Wiggly to get a few things. (But in the bag of my mind I cant stop aworryin about that Instant Pot and weather it gonna blow us to kingdom come

I STILL ALIVE

  before you say "clean the lid and rim", i would have you know that i clean the lid every time, as recommended in the book, removing every part as described and washing and drying them thoroughly and i also clean out the rim which, if you own this, is hard to get under. but i clean it nonetheless (because i'm a clean freak). so, i'm sorry instant pot makers, but the pressure is a little unreliable. and for many of us who cook regularly and need things that just work, this doesn't qualify for me as that quite yet

So far so good, for western and Indian food

 The open and closed position are not clearly marked. They're marked, but in small raised black lettering on a black background that's hard to see. So what's the logical thing to do? Lean in to read it! But you do NOT want to lean in or have any part of your body near the steam valve! I wish that was marked in a way that was easier to see.  Another issue with the steam release valve is the same as it would be for any pressure cooker

 It's more manageable to lift and move around if you'll be keeping it in a cabinet and not out all the time.

3 Qt is a good size for 1 or 2 people
