 You can make mixed greens and saute slow cook and keep warm now this one, the 8 cup instant pot zest only has the option go ahead and show you guys up close. You have white rice, brown rice delay the start. So if you guys don't want to start cooking, but you want it to cook an hour later, you guys can delay the start. You can keep it warm, there's, quinoa, oatmeal and a steam setting and then obviously the counsel button - and here you have your plus and minus to add more time or less time

First impression..... and 2nd impression is now disappointment.

 Don’t waste your time downloading the app as suggested in the guide. It has recipes for a few other Instant appliances, but NOT for the Zest.  The lid doesn’t come off for cleaning and there are NO cleaning instructions in the guide that comes with the cooker. A more complete guide is available online, but it’s just unacceptable to have to search for such basic information

The guide that came with the cooker says white rice takes 25-60 minutes to cook. What? How do you plan a meal with that range? I get that the Zest isn’t a pressure cooker and that the amount your cooking determines the cook time, but why can’t the so-called smart program tell me how long it’s going to take to cook? Instead of a countdown timer, the dumb display only reads “ON” until 10 minutes before the end of the cycle

Great rice, terrible documentation and display.

my simpler, retired, rice cooker knew how to tell when water was gone and turned off in less time than this one needs.  This one has presets for cooking brown and white rice demanding longer cook times.  I don't use those settings.  Have to use the "steam" setting, which allows for settings a realistic time

I mainly purchased this appliance to cook brown rice. I do not like that it takes 45-50 minutes to cook 1 cup of dry brown rice. My previous rice cooker cooked 1 cup of dry brown rice to perfection in 23 minutes. Big difference

  Awesome decision on my part! It cooks my rice (jasmine and basmati) sooo perfectly. I like the pot in this rice cooker way better than the one that was in my Aroma. The Aroma would almost overcook the rice sometimes, and even if it was just nicely cooked, the rice stuck. The Instant Pot does not stick! It's a much better coating

The booklet says, "We have partnered with chefs, authors, and bloggers to compile a collection of recipes that we hope you enjoy!" I can find any Instant Pot Zest Rice cooker recipes online! In short, the machine seems fine, but not user friendly for a first time rice cooker owner who would like to use all the advertised features (other than cooking rice).

No recipe book or instructions

My 20 year old rice cooker bit the dust and I needed a replacement.  I own an instant pot, but didn't care for the way rice came out of it and when I'm cooking my meal in the instant pot, I wanted a second machine for rice.  I also wanted a smaller machine since my family eats grain in small portions.

 Those cheap cookers, no more than $25 spued, hissed, and foamed with rice sticking to the pot's bottom. I just wasn't going to spring for a$200 fuzzy logic rice cooker. The Instant Zest has none of the issues of the cheap rice cookers and can be purchased in the $50 to $40 range. If you have an Instant Pot it will cook rice to, but it's much to large and difficult to clean whereas the Zest can be cleaned up with a damp sponge and takes up little space on your counter

Simple and easy to use rice cooker.

 My brown rice calls for simmering for 30 minutes (after you bring it to a boil) this rice cooker probably takes twice as long to make rice BUT it comes out perfectly everytime so I honestly done waste much rice anymore and I make it and leave it in the fridge until ready to use.
