My wife wisely offers her our Roomba, stating that I can buy the new model - with the ability to block off areas. Along comes my i6+ Roomba, Tango - now I have various rooms on the first floor being cleaned on alternating days, no more issue with food, water and cat toys.

I'm 9 months pregnant so I'm only using the push vacuum 1-2 times a week. This little bastard is supposed to be helpful in between. Nope.

So it’s still quieter than an upright vacuum by a good margin. 50db on carpet is crazy quiet. On hardwood I’d have to guess that what bothers most people is the higher pitched sound of the rubber rollers contacting the floor. It can be a little bit grating.

I recently purchased a Roomba i6. It mapped the house and did pretty good at it too, I have set up my kids bedrooms to be no go zones as the floors are always a mess and when I run the 3 day a week schedule I have it set to do the entire house but of course it DOESN'T do their rooms because I have them set as no go places.
