I currently have a Roomba s9+, but have become more and more interested in the Roborock s7. We have a mixture of hardwood, tile and carpet ( as well as area rugs). I do love the auto-emptying on my Roomba, but I don't love certain things like the constant replacement of the brush extractors and sometimes wonky navigation.

I'm not getting a vacuum without obstacle avoidance so that's out. The Roomba s9+ appears to be the best cleaning robot, but it's 3+ years old now, and also is missing obstacle avoidance, which even budget-priced vacuums have today.

The S9+ is older but it does have some benefits over the J7+. For one, it has the most suction power than any Roomba. It also has wider rollers which means that it can clean a little faster than the J7+.

I couldn't live without my IRobot Roomba S9. I have it going every other night, have zone marked (via app) so that it won't go near my cat's litterbox and accidentally drag poop across the rest of my floor. The self emptying is key. I only have to replace the bag every 3 months instead of dumping the vacuumed junk into the garbage.
