Best Internal Speaker Profile for C1?

 I recently bought an Airport Express for my deck outside that I keep in the house and plug in outdoors when we want to eat or entertain outside. I have a nice pair of Yamaha powered PA speakers that do the trick very nicely for bigger parties when we want the music to be heard throughout the yard, but for smaller gatherings we were looking for quality sound with a small footprint. Previously I was plugging the 1/8" stereo output of the Airport into a Bose Soundlink Mini Aux port. The sound is legendary Bose, with deep rich bass and nice mids and highs, but alas, I was still missing the stereo separation that you just don't get from a single mono speaker system

 So the search began for a pair of smaller powered speakers that I could quickly set up outside with the Airport Express that would give me the same quality sound in Stereo. And these YU2GBs absolutely met that demand. I was super impressed with the sound the minute I played music through them. Deep bass, nice punchy mids and crystal clear highs

 I also am not really digging the speaker to speaker connector. The primary speaker has a 2 channel amp that feeds itself and then you cascade two speaker wires to the secondary speaker. This is common with powered speakers but the connector used is some funky barrel type connector with a screw on cap and hole in the middle. Nothing in the instructions mentions how to use them

Kanto YU2, or YU4 if you can swing the bigger price. Surprising output and SQ for relatively small bookshelf / desktop speakers.  

Hi Fi Audio and compact usually don't mix. This is because you can't beat physics - even with DSP or Perfectly designed & manufactured drivers.

I am considering a new set of speakers for my 70” computer desk. Right now I have the same set I’ve been using for almost 20 years in the JBL Creature 2. The subwoofer rests on the floor under my desk (out of sight) with the two tweeters/speakers taking up very little space on the desk corners. 

I am looking for something similar but updated with more modern features. Would like to keep it under $250-$300 but doesn’t have to be. I believe that was the price range of this system when it launched. My priority is size - it has to have a small footprint. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

What are the best, most compact speakers for computer desk?

 Why? Because even though the sub handles all the bass, the woofers in the YU2's still try their darndest to reproduce those low frequencies and when you crank it up, you can hear them distorting. No good, and a HUGE oversight on Kanto's part. I knew this was an issue going in based on other reviews and decided I would try it for the price point and integrated DAC. But it's still disappointing nonetheless

 It doesn't affect anything, but since there's no grilles for these speakers, it's just something I see from time to time that shouldn't be there. Otherwise I find the materials to be very nice and aesthetically pleasing.  But, as I said, overall I'm pleased and expect to use these for a long time. They've been pretty good so far!

 But the bass is almost non-existent and what's there gets distorted quick. So you will absolutely need a sub if you like bass at all. Since they're similar in size, I was expecting similar performance to the Sonos 1/One line of speakers - but they don't even come close. But what they can do, with or without a sub, is fill a room with sound

New here and I'm a complete newbie in home audio setups. I recently purchased my first power amp for my setup and I ran into issues. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

If I turn up the volume past 50% on the amp's dial, my speakers simply stop playing the audio, and sometimes there's a clicking noise. I'm not sure if it's a speaker or amp problem.

I'm currently using the M-Audio AV40 speakers and based on my understanding it is a 20W powered monitor speaker with 10 Ohms impedance. The new amp I purchased is the Lepai LP2020TI which is a 20W amp and according to the manual has a "speaker impedance" of 4 to 8 ohms. I was told having a higher impedance speaker with a lower impedance amp is fine.

I run my CD player into the amp through 3.5mm audio jack into the amp which is connected to my speakers through a RCA cable into the line input. My initial thought was that the amp was not powerful enough and my amp is clipping. Is that the case? I'm not sure what is happening. I also run my turntable into a preamp then into the amp using RCA cables.

The amp still works as long as I don't turn it up beyond 50%. Is it okay if I continue to use the amp but keep it below 50% on the volume dial? Will that cause damage to the speakers/amp? Or should I just get a new amp? I don't have a huge need for it as my speaker is loud enough without an amp for my purposes and I'm trying to save money.

After getting both fixed up and tested on a little Phillips 3ohm speaker, I was very happy with the results. I'm looking for options for bookshelf speakers that fall in the 90db+ efficiency range. If anyone has any input on speakers in that range I'd appreciate it.

I have a pair of Mackie CR5XBT, and I wanted to plug them to my amplifier. Apparently, the speaker without the Bluetooth+pre-amplifier can accept the amplifier, but I can’t plug the one with the connector, pre-amplifier and Bluetooth (the left one in this case). I tried to change plugging etc but can’t work? Is it normal????

Looking at getting the Klipsch 8000F's as the price is very attractive. My dad had a stereo receiver that has been collecting dust, but should I invest in an amp? After 10 years of service my Cerwin-Vega! XD-3 powered desktop speakers are starting die on me and I need a replacement. I'm pretty out of the loop when it comes to what's good these days so any advice would be appreciated. I'm looking for a decent pair of general purpose powered desktop speakers. 

I can spend up to $250 on the speakers. I don't mind getting cables separately. I have 3.5mm and optical outputs on my desktop.

Noob audiophile here, im looking to buy floor standing speakers for my new house. I've been living in an appartment for over 10 years and now that im finally going to be living in a house i want to blast music without worrying about neighbors.  
(Sorry if this end up with a bad format but im on mobile) 
I need your help picking floor standing speakers.
My budget is 600-700 canadian dollars (around 550usd) 
I am ok with buying used as long as it's in a good condition. 
I want to plug it in to my pc or tv or even my phone, so i assume it'll need to have an aux cord or even preferably bluetooth.
The main feature im looking for is the speakers to have a nice crisp sound with focus on loudness and a good bass. 
I dont have any of the equipments such as amplifier and whatnot, so ill need everything. 
If you have any recommendations for a different kind of speaker that isnt a floor standing speaker then feel free to recommend it, i would definitely consider it since im open to ideas. I know getting an amp and floor standing speakers for my budget my end up buying me something not too good so if there's a plug and play speakers that would give me great sound then please let me know. I’ve had my Dali Zensor 3 speakers for a few years now and been pretty happy with them plugged into my Onkyo TX-8255 in my one-bedroom apartment, but I’ve gotten the upgrade bug. 

If I got a set of floor standing speakers at the $600-800 range (I’ve had my eye on the Wharfedale Diamond 12.3’s), would it make a noticeable difference in sound quality? Or would that money be better spent on something like a bookshelf speaker upgrade or a new amplifier?

My only real complaint about the Zensors is that the high end can feel just a little overpowering at times. I listen to a wide variety of genres on vinyl (with a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo), CD, and streaming, with a bit of a lean toward indie rock.

Noob alert here: I have a Pro-Ject RPM 1 Carbon, and Yamaha R-S202 receiver. I also currently have Elac B6 debut, bookshelves, as well as a set of Klipsch R-41m books.
I think the Elacs have a better bottom/mid range due to the size of the woofer, whereas the Klipsch seems to have better highs due to the superior tweeters.
While deficient sounding on their own, if I combine them on the A+B channels, they give a much "fuller" sound together. Is there a single speaker that would give the best of both worlds without breaking the bank? TIA!

I have a question about a stereo speaker control box. It's labeled as *2-WAY SPEAKER CONTROL*, and it allows you to switch between different pairs of speakers. On the back there are L+, L-, R+, R- for both of the outputs as well as the input. You can select between speaker pair 1, 2, or enable both.

I want to try using it to turn on only the left channel a.e. by connecting the left speaker to Output 1 (L+, L-) and the right to Output 2 (R+, R-). By that I want to be able to listen to only the left channel a.e. I don't mind if the quality gets worse since I won't connect it when I want to just listen to my music.

<div class="md"><p>I have a question about a stereo speaker control box. It&#39;s labeled as <em>2-WAY SPEAKER CONTROL</em>, and it allows you to switch between different pairs of speakers. On the back there are L+, L-, R+, R- for both of the outputs as well as the input. You can select between speaker pair 1, 2, or enable both.</p>

<p>I want to try using it to turn on only the left channel a.e. by connecting the left speaker to Output 1 (L+, L-) and the right to Output 2 (R+, R-). By that I want to be able to listen to only the left channel a.e. I don&#39;t mind if the quality gets worse since I won&#39;t connect it when I want to just listen to my music.</p>

I want the change because I want a 2.0 bookshelf system (the subwoofer take too much space in my desk)

Also looked the **Kanto Yu2** and i love it! they are tiny and beautiful, but they are a bit overpriced here (400USD). Also they always recommend a subwoofer with them but i dont want a subwoofer.

EDIT:
The **Mackie cr4-x**  are an option also (around 320USD) and the **Presonus Eris 3.5**  (230 USD)

I created a diagram showing how I intend to connect balanced headphones with a 4-pin XLR connector to a DAC/amp that has 2 x balanced 6.35mm TRS connectors. Comments are much appreciated.

This is what I came up with using parts available on Amazon in my region. I already considered buying a new, reasonably priced DAC/amp with 4-pin XLR support but this ugly setup is far cheaper (\~57 USD) and I'm trying to keep a tight budget this time.

My use case is same-quality audio for 2 connected headphones (both in use at the same time), entertainment at home (music, movies, games) and hobby audio production. Everything is stationary and physically close to the computer (within 2-3 meters). I only use headphones. So far I have been connecting both headphones to the unbalanced TRS output via a simple splitter while adjusting the volume carefully for both listeners.

I already have headphones (MrSpeakers Ether C), headphone cables and DAC/amp (Focusrite Scarlett 2i4), but none of the other things in the diagram. Some items were chosen due to space constraints behind the DAC.

If, and only if I were to consider buying a new DAC/amp then I would want something better than Schiit Jotunheim with the AK4490 balanced DAC module because the sound is too "muddy" for my taste using my Ether C headphones. I prefer the crisper sound I get from Scarlett 2i4 which I paid less for. I heard some good things about Fostex HP-A4BL. That's the price range I could consider right now.

Cambridge Audio Aeromax 2 or Focal Aria 906? Mostly classical and Lo-fi, I have experience with cans but not too much with speakers.

I was a bit weary because I've tried plenty of desktop speakers in the $50 range, and was just getting rid of a set of 15 year old 200watt Panasonic speakers that served me well but were falling apart.
