I have the Kef q 150s and think they are a really smart investment for that space. They are a little longer and bigger than some bookshelves tho. Given they are on sale now I think that's a good investment. I think they are good speakers to grow wirh as they hold their own on speaker stands. I honestly cannot believe how well they image in the front  of my set up wirh a subwoofer.

Bookshelf or desktop placement

 I would recommend these Kanto speakers for people looking for quality above the typical desktop computer speakers. I would get the YU6's and purchase the subwoofer.

 The sound quality is average at best. When cranking them up the bass drops and the sound loses its quality in my opinion. I returned them because of the humming noise when I plugged them into my computer. I used the Bluetooth for a while but it becomes a little annoying to restart the Bluetooth process every time because of the auto shut off feature

Had them for two weeks and returned them...I do recommend them

Looking for Relatively small desktop speakers: Budget - $300-500

This product is packed with features; however, when it comes to the sound these put out I would describe them as lifeless. The bass is not tight and has a loose feel while the mids and highs are no better than a portable Bluetooth speaker. I mainly bought these for an apartment figuring with the 4" speakers these would be better suited for low to mid volume levels with decent sound quality. Ill keep them because of the features and they look great, but as soon as I get a bigger room space out of an apartment these will be nothing more than decorations

I would like to have all the possible connections of the yu6s (preamp for turntable, Bluetooth, etc) but if there is another speaker under $500 which is a substantial upgrade in sound, I would be willing to get that. I am looking for a fun speaker while also being relatively accurate. I would also like to know what sub I should get to pair with it. I was thinking maybe a BIC f12, a svs sb1000, or an svs sb12. I would like to stay around $300-400 for the sub but again if there’s a substantial upgrade that could be made if I spent 500 instead, I would be willing. I would only be using the speaker and sub for music.

Kanto Yu6 vs SVS prime vs JBL 305p Mkii or another speaker under $500

Not great television speakers.

It is crap after I raise the volume. Recently I have bought both the Kanto YU4, and the Vanatoo T0 to try out.

 its really about the space you have them in and how that bottles up or frees the sound.

Sound is more well rounded than I’m used to, and they make me appreciate mids and highs a lot more. Picks up my phone as soon as I walk in the room. Turns on with the monitor if you have it plugged in via AUX, so great for gamers using monitors instead of tv’s. Just wish there was a little more bass if I wanted it (without buying the overpriced sub) and that they had some kind of digital meter to show you how high or low your bass, volume, treble are at

I have a 100 sq ft office that’s soundproof. 

I use an M1 MacBook and listen to music, podcasts all day except when I’m on calls. 

I’m sick of having headphones in all day.  I use an external camera for Zoom which has a mic built in. 

I have a $200-250 budget. There are way, way too many choices and I’m ready to move. 

What should I buy tomorrow?

Speakers for listening to music and doing Zoom calls in my office.

These little speakers pack quite a punch, and I love how the look alongside my vintage turntable! Only thing I wish they had is a headphone jack in the back so I can connect headphones directly to my turntable with them acting as a amplifier in the middle.

Great little speakers!
