Good digital piano recommendation for beginners

 The other built-in sounds are synthesized, and fine for what they are, but it's all about the pianos. Sound quality is excellent through headphones. Adjustments may be made for the type of headphone, and also for a spatial enhancement feature. I prefer the enhancement off for a more natural sound

The quality of the keyboard action is first-rate, light and very fast. The sampled piano sounds are very good, although there is a slight digital sandpaper over everything (what else is new). Adjustments can be made to the pianos Including damper resonance, reverb, brilliance, and touch sensitivity. The board does not remember your settings after being turned off, which is inconvenient

 I'm using a hybrid tube amp driving a pair of KRK6 monitors and it sounds fantastic. Update: Added a Theater Solutions down-firing subwoofer. The lowest octave rocks! Bottom line: The keyboard alone is worth the price. The piano sounds are refined and highly adjustable, even though the user interface and functions are minimal

 Listened to through headphones, or through quality speakers, the sound is very, very good. It has one flaw, those onboard speakers, but work around them and get it anyway! It's a quality instrument, and a blast to play. Nothing near it at this price.

And of course, it's being pushed through a set of very high quality 40 watt amp and speaker system 20 per side. so we'll throw the specs up on the screen so you can check them yourself visually one more time and then we'll move on to the action. [Music] The KDP 110 has I think it's called the Grant Hammer Feel Compact - I think I Got that right

 So to load that level of sample up on the instrument I think immediately gives this an edge in some respects, especially for people focused strictly on tone quality. So it's 88 notes, It means every single note has its own sample that's been recorded on their full nine-foot handmade concert grand. Japan Really lovely instrument if you ever have a chance to play that on its own. The other nice thing about the KDP 110 is that they've equipped it with 40 watts of speaker power 20 per side

 From all of the big players you go, you know over three thousand dollars it's a It's a given that you're gonna get a triple sensor and you most of them over the two thousand dollars also have it. At this point, it's pretty unusual to get it underneath two thousand dollars. And so I commend Kauai on equipping the model with it I think it's a really, really great feature. The keys come with a nice little texture

I recently moved to US and planning to buy a digital piano (in the range of 700-900$). I plan to go with the same, but I see lot of people recommend/compare with Roland FP30 or even latest Casio ones. Any suggestions? I don't intend to use all the fancy technical stuff though, atleast at this point. Mianly for the touch/dynamics and sound.

Yamaha P125 vs Roland FP30 or other?

 The action is more realistic than the Yamaha, and quieter than the Privia. The sound is also more realistic than I believe either of the others to be. Assembly: The assembly is relatively easy. The keyboard posseses most of the weight of the instrument so you may need help puting it in place when the times comes

 The piano is heavy, do not try to move it alone.  Overall I am so immensly pleased with this purchase I am almost moved to tears. Everything outmatched my already high expectations. Many people say these instruments are affordable, but to a normal working person $1000+ is an investment

The action is also very true to piano sound in that it doesn’t produce any loud banging when a key is pressed. Features: The 15 voices are all great, but more impressive are the modifications used to change the sounds of the pianos

 I was genuinely surpised. Wood: The piano body is very strong and stable. I was glad to see the back board was more significant than a piece of cardboard. The finish is also a gorgeous, dark, almost black, rosewood

 It's actually very, very simple to do and it's very easy to learn the different combinations and before you know it, you won't be needing this at all. So I'm going to keep this video very simple. I'm just going to start off by demonstrating the four different core piano sounds that are found in the KDP One Mono. and we're going to start off with the Concert Grand Piano sound and this is the Sound of the Sugar Ooh Kawaii X Concert Grand Piano [Music] So by pressing a combination of the sound Select button and the different keys in the bottom octaves, you can change the voice of the piano

 And you really do need to try this piano out for yourself just to appreciate quite how good it does sound and quite how surprising it is that it's in this price point. Very often pianos in this price point would have a shiny, slippery plastic keyboard surface, but this ivory feel really is very nice and it's a it's a really good expressive playing experience on the KDP one one

 So every note actually has two sounds playing at the same time piano and strings and it gives a nice, full, rich sound. So I'll play the same thing twice. First of all, with the strings. and then I'm going to add the strings to the piano [Music] [Music] Oh Oh [Music] So that kinda gives you a really nice lush, warm sound and it makes planning a piano more fun

So, latelly I've been thinking of buying a digital piano to begin learning how to play for real. I've played on a keyboard  but never really tried to learn the instrument properly, just learned some songs from time to time (the keyboard belongs to my older brother but he no longer uses it). I'm probably going to sell the keyboard so I can get a little more confortable regarding costs (and, even so, there's not a lot of room for more expensive stuff).

From watching and reading reviews, I've narrowed down the choices to two digital pianos: the Yamaha P125 and the Kawai ES110. Both of these pianos end up being the same price where I live when taking into account the wood stand and the triple pedals.

I'm more inclined to the Kawai because it seems to have a clearer  sound and a wider dynamic range (there's more variation in volume and intensity with softer or harder key presses). 

The most important thing to me is the actual piano sound. I don't really care for other instruments that may be available on the piano nor for a lot of other features that it may have. The piano is the main concern here.

If anyone can give me some reasons to chose one over the other I'd be very thankful

Entry level digital piano comparison

 When put all together it is very sturdy, no wobbling or moving at all. The only con I have about it is the music stand could be a little longer but I can live with it as is. I do reccomend this digital piano!

 The day after I placed my order, Alamo Music contacted me and informed me this model was not in stock but ask if I would consider the newer model KDP 120 at no extra cost to me. After a little more research on the difference between the 2, I informed them that I would accept the newer model. Yes, I am absolutely happy with this digital piano! I believe I would have been happy with the 110 also. It is a high quality instrument

I recently purchased a Roland F-140R and previously I had an older Casio Privia.  I haven't play much piano besides on the Privia, but I've been playing on it for years.  When I first played the Roland the keys and action were amazing.  And the sound was also great as I could really hear the (simulated) ringing of the strings and even the damper resonating.  It was pretty great.

But then as I started playing more, I noticed the notes from about E to A just below middle-C, and especially Gb, G, and Ab, just sound really strange.  Sort of like they're flat, but also like it's almost a different instrument.  I've tried everything from changing the instrument, brilliance, ambiance, and touch and nothing works to help.  It's noticeable both on speakers and headphones. Nor did a factory reset help.  I should note it isn't bad if played as a chord, but only for individual notes.

I asked Roland about this and they said it is probably their "stretch tuning", but I looked that up and it should only affect the very high and low notes, and not the notes right in the middle.

But I know a digital piano can't be out of tune, and I know the other notes sound great, and I know lots of people love the Roland "super natural" sound, so is it just me?  Why do I hear these notes as sounding really strange?  Is this how acoustic pianos actually sound?  Maybe a transition from bass notes to treble?

I went to a piano store that had this 140 and a Kawai KDP110 (the other piano I'm considering).  The store's 140 did have the same issues mine does, but the Kawai isn't as noticeable.  The notes did still sound a little flat or dull to me, but not distractingly so like the Roland.

So I'm curious if anyone else notices this?  Is there a way to "fix" it, or is this just a typical acoustic piano sound?

I ask mostly because I really like the Roland keys, action, and build quality, but will likely try to replace the 140 with the new RP-701.  However, if the 701 has this same flat sound that can't be fixed, then I might consider something else.
