 Regardless of what literature you go with compared to what else is on the market and from everything i'm experiencing on the trail, it's able to be not only durable but also very, very comfortable with those loads. So then, on top of being able to access, obviously from the top, you are able to access as long as you unclip, those guys you can access the main compartment from the bottom. You have very well built over size, ykk, zipper, two right there. You can get into your bottom of your bag that way, so you can get access to things on the bottom if you need to which is a cool feature, and then the other aspect that i really do like is the fact that we have detachable compression straps On the bottom to either cinch down the bag, if i need to or to lash other equipment, maybe your sleeping pad

 I'Ve not seen this before and even the other people on the trip with me noticed they're like whoa. That'S really contoured in kind of an interesting way and that thing fit perfectly in the small, my back and just really rode so well. In fact, at the end of this entire trip, let me give you a little um uncandid trail conversation on how i felt about how comfortable this whole carry system is. There'S the car we started at nine o'clock, it is 12

 I knew i was going on this multi-day, so i reached out to kelty. I said: hey i'd, love to take this on a track and see what it has to offer they're willing to send it over to me to test out and review for you guys, so that i can give you my feedback. My data on what i like what i don't pros and cons of the design, so you can choose whether or not this is the right pack for your next multi-day backpacking adventure. Now based off of that, this usually goes for about 160

 I will be annotating some in and ultimately, you can always hop on over to the kelty website. They do do a great job, um of laying out not only the materials, the um sizing and all those aspects that you may be interested in weight of the pack. So if i miss a data point, that's something just to note i'll have a link over to the kelty website for you that you can check it out, but what we're looking at here is going to be obviously a 65 liter size pack. All of the polymer is going to be ykk brand, so that's a good polymer and then we're going to be looking at ykk zippers as well that are really well built

Value + Comfort Kelty Coyote 65L 2020

I went from a 45 pound pack three years ago for a three-day outing to 33 pounds last year (food and water included). My goal this year is under 25 total for a week-long hike of the KT. I will only achieve that with the upgrades I have made to my kit over the past year.

 First, I backpack with kids sometimes and have to carry a lot of their gear to keep them under 25%. The second reason is that I'm getting older and want to keep hiking as long as I can. Buying lifetime gear that weighs practically nothing is a bonus.

So the other day is saw a comment in the sub, sort of too this effect. 

The comment was downvoted and people argued it isn't some arbitrary weight limit that makes you an ultralighter, it's about a philosophy to not carry the unnecessary and that in some conditions (and with some budgets constraints), it isn't always possible to get under those 10lbs, but that doesn't mean you can't call yourself an ultralighter. 

Anyway, the comment still made me wonder: **What are some of you doing in this sub with your +10lbs base weights?**

Not to be some sort of gatekeeper, but out of actual curiosity. Because personally I'm not an ultralighter (neither based strictly on weight nor my adhesion to that philosophy). 

My base weight is 9kg (20lbs), about 3.5kg (almost 8 pounds) of that comes from my camera gear. That is my answer to the question. I'm not a long distance hiker, I'm interested in photography and ultralight gear enables me to cut down weight on other stuff so I can carry my camera comfortably up mountains. 

So the less "clickbaity" way to ask my question is probably more; If you don't consider yourself an ultralighter and aren't trying to become one, what are you trying to enable (other outdoor hobbies whatever) by using gear and methods "stolen" from the ultralight community?

Ultimately, however, I ended up returning this pack due to comfort concerns. Granted, I never left the confines of my home with the pack, it still created some discomfort in my lower back (even with a measly 20lbs loaded in it). I adjusted equipment several times but could never get rid of a hot spot at the base of the pack (there's not padding to raise the pack off of your lumbar, and I felt the seam across the bottom just constantly rubbed).

Great price, but not the pack for me.

I have no doubt I'll be able to fit my gear into this backpack. My concern is rather the weight it might reasonably support, as well as comfort. Comfort and weight distribution is a big one, and it is the major factor for me. Even for a 6 hour hike, this is more gear than I'll be used to carrying, and I want to make sure I'll be comfy

I'm off to Norway and will be doing a few day hikes. While not the most demanding (6 hours each), I will be carrying a lot of gear including photography equipment which calls into question the type of backpack I'll really need.

Good backpack but heavy for backpacking, the straps are also a little thin and tend to hurt my shoulders. Also the zipper strings fell off on a couple zippers on the first use. Overall good value for your money and great for travel just not the best for long backpacking trips.

 What this allows you to do is make on body adjustments to the harness of the pack. You can get a nearly perfect fit every time, it's very highly adjustable and fits a huge range of different users. It'S always a hassle to adjust packs to really get them dialed in just right, but with this easy-to-use strap system, Keltie has definitely improved the fit by allowing those fine-tune adjustments while wearing the pack. Okay so I waited to review this backpack until I had done some serious hiking with it. For the most part I love this pack. I like the side storage, waist belt storage, top storage and back storage that allows me plenty of room to prioritize where gear goes. The pack is a trade off

 Initially I taped off the straps after fitting but that proved inadequate. Finally I fitted my pack and then took 20 minutes to sew the straps so they stayed put and did not work loose under load and hiking. I personally also had no use for using the top of the pack as a sling pack and jettisoned the straps. Would've been nice if those were removable without cutting them out

 I have been hiking lately with anywhere from 38 to 45 lb's and the pack really handles the weight well and is probably one of the most comfortable packs I have hiked with over the years. Now the issues: When the main compartment is full it is really difficult to get much in the back external compartment. I don't really get why this is sewn on flat and so restrictive??? Now the really big issue: The sure fit system while it does allow for near perfect fitting I have found the fitting not to be static. I was worried about this when I first fitted the pack and looked at the system and as I suspected the pack did not stay fitted under heavy loads and on long hikes

 I always love how kelty packs feel. i think they make the most comfortable packs for my bony tall body type. i'm 6'2" and 165lbs. The pack has been on many trips

 I sent the pack back to kelty and they crossed shipped me a brand new pack but the rivet popped out again in the new replacement pack so I think they might want to stop using those rivets/grommets. I am not going to send it back again. its a very minor gripe. For the price I think its a great deal and you cannot put a price on comfort
