I just had a baby. Our family members love calling in through Whatsapp Video to talk to her.  Currently we just use a smartphone, but that is too small and the baby can't really see the other person.

So, I'm looking to get a large Tablet PC (12 inches plus would be best) so the baby can actually see the other person.  

We'll also use the Tablet for other things (email, web browsing, youtube, netflix, etc) of course, so it needs to be good with other stuff besides video calling as well.

If they fit in your price range a Samsung Tab A7 or a Lenovo P11 are good budget options with not too many compromises, definitely a big improvement from a fire 8.

IIRC the Tab A7 should have a Kids mode out of the box, don't know about the P11.

I'd get a 2-in-1 tbh, like an ASUS vivobook with an OLED screen. If you insist on getting a tablet though, I think pretty much only Samsung, Lenovo, and Apple make OLED screen tablets.

Could just get a P11 Plus for your dad and call it a day though, save some money.

Another thought, you can get a book cover with the S6 lite that folds into a triangle stand, rather than the kick stand, or there's a lot of covers that mimic this feature.

The company which I work at recently purchased around 10 of the Lenovo Yoga Smart Tabs, the variant with 4gb of ram, Snapdragon 439 (yuck, but not awful in use), and 64gb eMMC storage. I was curious as to whether or not there is anything of a similar form factor and featureset, with featureset specifically meaning the large speakers, flip up foot, and relatively large 10 inch size, but with higher end internals, something like an 800 series snapdragon processor, or equivalent. 

I was curious about this because I would like to purchase one for my father. He's currently using another Lenovo tablet, the m10 plus, and I wanted something that would be a great upgrade for him. He loves to watch stuff on his tablet, hence why the stand, nice speakers, and large size would be nice. I would prefer to have an OLED screen, but IPS is fine, as long as it's equivalent to or better than the screen on the Yoga Smart Tab.

I had decided to get an iPad this upcoming black Friday since I needed to use Google Docs and my iPad 2 has been going strong but it's only good for streaming.
  
I bought a Fire HD 10 since it was something like $80 on Prime day. I figure I can return it if I don't like it. So far it has exceeded my expectations and I have a very wide range of use case scenarios from productivity to remote VNC access to animation/video editing  The only huge drawback is the lack of the Play Store out of the box.

Honestly if you have the budget for a Tab S7 (or +) or the Tab S8, I would get that. It's easily the best Android tablet on the market without a equal.

I have to be very honest with you, Lenovo P11 Pro continues to surprise me everyday. Great battery, Android, excellent screen, pen and keyboard all for about 400 bucks. I don't know what your budget is but I really recommend taking a look at it.

I have a high end laptop but a bit noisy and all so I was looking for something even slimmer to use for notes and being efficient without having to bring my laptop charger, or risk bumping my laptop badly, as i think a tablet would be more durable for that type of use.

<p>I live in Spain if the region/pricing matters. What I care about is having an official keyboard case to combo it with like the apple magic keyboard. I don&#39;t mind Android at all. In fact I&#39;m more used to it than Apple so i prefer android.</p>
