What are your thoughts on ultra-short throw laser projectors? I am considering this type of projector so I can have a cleaner setup without routing wires through walls and avoid mounting a projector to the ceiling. Budget is 6K CAD for projector and screen. Room has large windows in back wall but will be getting blackout drapes. Going for 120" screen size.

I like that the image appears much brighter than mid-long throw projectors in the same price range since they are so close to the screen. Initially I was considering having a 65" TV mounted then have a pull down screen for a projector when I need it. But with a laser projector I might be able to ditch the TV altogether. I would guess you won't be able to achieve black levels as an OLED tv or a projector in the 10k range. What y'all think?

Thoughts on ultra-short throw laser projectors?

 No Answer no update.  Call the service department, the automated attendant asks what product you are calling about, when you say projector it connects you to TV department, which does not handle projectors but still take many minutes on hold to get through to and then be transferred for several minutes. It's your AI get it to send me to the right department.  I expected better customer service, considering small claims court if they don't get us a replacement or a firm replacement date this week

 This was a $5k purchase when we bought it, I expect a higher level and substantially less bumbling of support than this.  I am sure the "presidential liaison" was prepared to apologize up and down for the problem. Apologies are useless and worth the paper they are written on. Right off the bat, we can see that the LG's image does appear to look brighter, despite being 100 lumens less than the Samsung at its maximum brightness. In this particular image mode, it seems that the LG retained a higher level of brightness than the Samsung. We can see less white clipping and more shadow detail in the Samsung as a result of the brighter image on the LG
